A random thought about this movie....I have seen this movie lot of time. Still I try to watch this one whenever I get time... I have no idea how I became that much addictive towards it. The mystery, the story, the acting everything were just excellent. Most of all...Tim Robbins!! I think he has given his best number in this picture. Have seen his another pictures like Mystic river, Bull Darham etc... but this one I think terrific. Whenever I use to think "Andy dufrene" as a seperate character, I cant even think of anyone else rather than Tim. And Morgan Freeman was too good. I think mostly I like this movie because of the simplicity, the awesome background music and the good message delivered by it. Dont you think it was worth a movie to receive Oscar awards in 1994?

Awesome movie! Very intense. If you are the drama lover..this movie is it. It should have gotten an award for sure!

Even I am a big fan of this movie. I certainly watch it whenever I get time. And yes, it deserved an Oscar, certainly.

I have not seen this movie yet, but from your comment on this movie, I can see that it is a very excellent one. You are right that good movies are always attractive to us that we would be happy to watch it again and again. I have the same experience. Take care.

This is such a co incidence. My daughter has been recommending this movie since the time she saw it and raving over it. I of course know all there is to know about the film by now, but am definitely going to watch it soon - Thanks a lot for sharing details about the film here - all the best
