For years I worked second shift so I came home & everyone was asleep. My company each night was a dusty conure named sprite. He was quite a character. He played cards by holding several, throwing them all down then running away with the pile of coins. It took a good while but I finally got him to say "I'm a chicken hawk & your a chicken!". He never talked to anyone else though for the longest time. One weekend night when my wife gave him a treat he said"Thank you". My wife responded with "Your welcome" then fell over the chair when she realized she was having a conversation with the bird. Coincidentally he's also the one who taught my daughter how to eat. He liked her baby food & would often clean up the leftovers ( there were often a lot since she REFUSED to eat them ). She found him funny & before long we realized that if he was eating some she would to. We'd gave him his own spoon full ( which he held himself )of her food to eat & if she could see him eating it she'd eat it too.
