hello friends.. I just came to know about pricing of these two Apple products. I don't know about other countries but in India Ipod Touch 4 is available around in 312$ (14000 Rs in Indian currency) and IPhone 4 is available around in 1000$ (45000 Rs) . Don't you think thats the huge difference . And as per my knowledge the only difference between them is IPod Touch 4 is don't having phone option in compare of Iphone4. So whats a big deal. I can buy any cheap mobile and ipod touch 4 and still I will get both in too cheaper Price in compare of iphone 4 !!!! Can anyone tell me why so much huge gap in pricing or whats the other unique feature in IPhone4.

Hi Akp, This is quite an expensive gift that you are buying for me... . I cannot afford the bills. It is the feeling and I am happy that you are planning to gift me anything on the new year Cheers, theSids.

oh... I already mentioned I am a poor guy... Anyways, for friendships sake, I would go to the counter and pay the bills. But just ensure you send me the cheques well before schedule as my bankers take 15 days for processing non-station cheques and I dont want you to pay extra for delays

I guess one gift is enough for this new year.. No double gifts.. You have to be happy with bills only .. sorry for cheques.

You are correct the only difference between the two is that one has phone capability and the other doesn't. But in order to utilize the iphone you need to have a service provider for us it is AT&T, they are the only service provider for that phone, even though the phone may cost $200, you need to sign a service agreement with them for a minimum of a year and their monthly cost for that service is approximately $60 a month. Personally I would buy the iPod, even though it is a bit more expensive, but I wouldn't want to pay a service provider that much money a month to utilize the iPhone. If anyways you have the same capabilities and you even have wi-fi (internet access). That's just my personal opinion.

Yes except phone all features are same.. In our country we don't need to pay monthly to service provider after purchasing IPhone. But the barrier is iphone. Its having too much cost here. While ipod is having very less price in compare of iphone and the difference in features is just iphone is having phone facility and ipod don't have it.

Luck you, unfortunately where I live in order to get an iPhone you must have a service provider which really sucks because of the agreement you have to sign, but if you don't and it's cheapers than the iPod and has the same features then go for it.

Nope we having too much higher price of Iphone4 here in compare of ipod touch 4. Iphone 4 is around 1000$ here and ipod touch 4 is around 300$. Don't you think its huge difference.

I have the ipod touch 2G, and it has suited me fine. My grandson got an ipod touch 4G for Christmas, and he showed it to me, and it is a very nice ipod. It even has a camera which the others don't have. I am thinking of maybe upgrading my ipod touch one of these days. You are right, it doesn't have the call capability but I do think that the ipod would be better than the iphone4. I have never had an iphone, as I am with Verizon, and they don't have it. I think it all depends on which one you get though, as the 8gig ipod is the cheapest and they go up from there. My ipod is just an 8gig as that is all that I need. I hope you decide which one is best for you though, and have a very good day.

Hi their Well there is only one difference that ipod 4 don't have call facility like iphone4.. It having all other facility like camera with HD video recording. And in compare of Iphone4 it having lot less price. So i am thinking about going for ipod4. Thats great that you already having experience of ipod touch. I guess ipod touch 4 having some extra facility. So you can go for upgrade.

I would rather go for the Iphone3 which comes at a cheaper price than Iphone4 which is said to have some flaws! I wouldn't mind spending money considering the features this Iphone4 offers...applications wise!

And why don't you think about ipod touch 4 which having same facility like iphon4 and its price is less than iphone3... Its only not having phone facility.. But we can go for cheap phones(1500Rs around ) + ipod touch 4 = Around 15000Rs.. Which is much lesser than iphone3..

That depends what you want to do. If you have already a cellphone that you are satisfied with and only want these great additional features like apps, Wifi etc. then the iPod will do that too, and it's cheaper too. but if you want phone capabilities along with the iPod features, then I would invest in the iPhone, but then be careful about the agreement of your service provider. If your service provider offers the iPhone, I would ask the service provider for prices, new agreements, offers etc. In Austria, at least three providers already offer the iPhone, but I don't own it yet.

Well I am having mobile already.. And Iphone 4 is too costly here. Here we don't have that much problem with service provider. We having prepaid normal plans like others. But the main problem is pricing. so if i will plan to buy any i will decide for ipod only.
