IT is his right to change his sim card or cellphone number. I am not change my cellphone number frequently i will change my number if the old one was lost. Like what happened to me yesterday my sim doesn't read by my blackberry so it does not work no messages. I need to replace the old so i bought the new one. Mostly accidentally why i changed my number. If not stolen or lost it was not working so nothing to do but to changed.

Hi Sameer, I am not on the same boat with your friend. I am sticking with my ol' one that I obtained for the first time. I use it as the principal communicating medium so I cannot afford to change it. Actually there are so many offers from different operators to promote their service some of them offer free talk time. And some people prefer to take advantage of that and I think there is noting to be objected to. However, they must have at least one steady number for the near and dear ones otherwise there would be difficulty to keep in touch and that would occur to both the parties. Those who are so clever to exploit the lucrative offers are not expected to be so dumb as not to maintain it. Best wishes

I also have the same number since 6 years, and you are right its mostly because of the offers of companies, but it creat problem for friend to find them.

I am using the same cell number for the past 4 years or so. Mostly people change numbers as they change service providers and switch to better plans. As Mobile Number Portability is not yet here in India, even I notice people changing numbers often. But that would change as soon as MNP hits India I guess. For me, I am happy with my plan and service provider for the past 4 years and don't see any reason to switch my number.
