Has anyone actually watched anything on a 3D TV? I was just wondering how good of an experience it actually is. The advertisements about them have seemed to died down a lot after the initial surge due to the world cup in South Africa. I personally have never watched one. Do they compare to the 3D at the movie theaters?

I've heard of 3D TVs but I don't think they're as good as watching a 3D movie because the 3D movies were made with those shadowy shadow stuff and that's why you wear those glasses so the image is pushed forward (or that's how I see stuff ) but in a 3D TV ... well , I just doubt those things work as well as the movies ...

Yeah, plus the 3D TV's are on a smaller scale than at the movies so it is probably way harder to get the same realistic effect as at the movies.

I think that most of the major TV providers provide at least some 3D programming, but you have to buy it for some insane amount of money. I don't think i'll be buying one anytime in the near future either. Happy mylotting

i think that 3d technologies right now for tv are too much expensive and not really practical for consumer needs...so may be we should wait a bit more before considering a 3d tv as real buy for the home...may be the 3d tv will be popular as it happened for hd tv..when the price and functionalities will be really improved!!

I think it all depends on how you would want to watch your 3D TV. The average consumer probably won't buy it since there's not much these days (maybe wait 5 years). I saw that Dish Network is recently offering an HD 3D Video-on-Demand, though, but the content is not really all there. Only the hardcore entertainment consumers would want to buy one. Plus, you gotta consider the price of the 3D glasses (all companies have their distinct glasses).
If you really consider buying one, I'd suggest the Panasonic TC-VT25. :)
