I just need to know a answer about Green tea.
For years I have drank Lipton Tea which we all know is black pekoe tea.
Recently my rhuematologist asked me to start drinking a green tea so I found a Lipton green tea with Mandarin Orange that i really like.
But my question is when I drink green tea I notice I feel like there is a dryness on my tongue and mouth. More than drinking a regular black tea.
I drink my black tea both iced and hot depending on weather.
The Green Tea I only drink hot. I just can't imagine flavored teas cold although I know a lot of people do drink it that way.

I've never had a problem with green tea making my mouth dry, either Maybe it's the mandarin orange that does it? Have you tried a different brand of green tea? I like Celestial Seasonings. Maybe it would be worth trying a box just to see. Lipton is my favorite tea, too, except for their green tea.

I love green tea and drink it both hot and cold. I don't get the flavored ones though. I am not sure why your tongue would feel dry, I find green tea to be very refreshing. Maybe try it with a bit of honey in it and see if that helps.

I have never had a problem drinking green tea. I drink it both hot and cold and love it. When drinking it cold it is so refreshing even more then water or soda for that matter. I gave up soda years ago and only usually drink teas. I do love most teas and none has ever given me a dry mouth. Maybe you are getting a different reaction then most. I would talk to your doctor about this. Maybe he can explain. Good luck!

I do love green tea I had been drinking it ever since I found out the health benefit of it but the one thing I don't like about it is my teeth turn yellowish and have to brush my teeth right after drinking but I felt " yuukkkyy" after brushing so i quit drinking tea.! not totally but once in a while I drink it but not all the time like I used to.!

I've drunk green tea both hot and cold, love flavored teas iced - yummy!
the biggest problem I've had with green tea is it causes a black film on my teeth, learned it was the green tea from my dental hygienist (the one who got the kitten a year and a half ago)
