Competitive Ads and Services in Using Google Adsense. What does it mean?

Before, I was so afraid to put other PPC ads on my blog because there bloggers who said that if you put other ads together with adsense, your adsense earnings will be affected. I was so curious about this so looked at the Google AdSense Program Policies and one of the Policy there states that: "In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads." So in my understanding, it is clear that they will not allow other PPC ads which has the same color as Google adsense to prevent confusion. However you can still sell Google ads together with other PPC ads as long as you have make sure that users will not be confused which ads belongs to Google adsense. According to the Policy, it is your responsibility to separate Google ads from other ads or else there will be no Google ads that will appear on your site or blog. So what do you think? What is your own opinion and understanding on this policy.
