As you see I changed my avatar into an animated one. Do you think this will result into more responses? What do you do to get more ( back and forth) responses?

I think that if the avatar fits the character of the person behind it then it makes no difference whether it is animated or not. However I LOVE to see those pages where there are many back and forth comments between users and the avatars are moving too - it's such fun! Hey yours certainly fits your character now!

I would love to see that too. So why don't you spill all the beans diana? :) I am sure everyone is very interested hearing what you have to say. :D ( I know you won't tell us everything... :P) Thanks for the compliment, yours don't.

Avatar is nothing but and identity of user. Attractiveness of avatar can catch eye. But in case of responding attractiveness of discussion is more important.

I have to admit that avatars to not call my attention at all... But I will look at it and find them, cute, odd, entertaining and interacting. I so like your new look... chain gang..as mysd calls it.. barge away.

He missed that one! I wonder if he would have time to read it now, if he was here of course, but he seems to have vanished again

I blame diana. She doesn't want to spill the beans. So I eat them instead. Makes no since at all huh? Not even as a proverb? I know. My English blows and sucks lollipops.

diamania can be here and gone in a flash. , It has always been my thinking you comment back and you continue to move the discussion up a notch in the tabs, where as many can quite easily see and be more likely to reply. Not doing so sinks in lower in the buckets and not easily be found.

I respond in the first place, unless I'm depressed and over stressed like lately

Avatars do not help you to get more responses rather a discussion with two responses with lots of back and forth comments can pave way for more responses

So be it.... I'll blink till someone starts moving back and forth BTW I think barging is comfortable in known territories... Some people are ubiquitous here, each thing mylot is there own :) But I'm just a humble nothing How could I charge those masters???

In fact sunny insists we barge as he barges all the time... One thing mysd I have noticed some members barging in somewhere I applied a comment and the initial posters get pee you'd. I love it. Naturally these are the members who are not using myLot to it's full potential. One particular instance it became a whole ska doodle and the initial poster was so rude. Why do members feel they own the comments, comment boxes and that it should not be done. I do not get that. What the member did not get is that it then resulted in members no longer responding to any of their started discussion.

As you had made some experiment here on this matter so result will bi known more better to you ..... So after some days you yourself get the result. But personally I never believe that there is any chance of getting more responses just for animated AVATAR. I think people respond here to discussion. So attractiveness and quality of discussion is more considerable than any other thing.

Yep attractiveness, quality but also someone's reputation. I am pretty sure people tend to check discussions of better known people earlier than the new kid on the block or the annoying ranter.

Yeah that's right. After a while you find out who creates awesome discussions and who does not. Avatars are just gimmicks that could attract attention but that's that. :)

Well the animated avatars easily catch the eyes.But what really matters is the content of the discussion.And of curse this is an interesting discussion which has a great scope of responding in so many angles. Strangely I feel sorry fr the animated cats and dogs who relentlessly get tortured by being animated without being able to get even a wink of sleep. And I want to tell you that I like your animated avatar.

T-T-T-thank Y--y-you Yeah terrible isn't it. We are online animal abusers! Indeed as you say content is most important, someone's reputation also plays a role, a catchy animated avatar only has a very slight effect, if any, probably. :D Your avatar is, seemingly, a mystery. :P

Hi Diamania, I don't really think the avatar has a lot to do with responses you get. It's the discussion itself. In fact I keep looking at your avatar wondering what it will do next and not typing.

diamania hi love your avatar. I just keep changing my graphics on my own avatar. as for getting= more responses I just keep on being myself without any airs,just me an elderly woman who loves to mylot and enjoys responding to all her friends so maybe that is my trick, I sure do not know.

Hello, i don't know if you will have more responses, because it's up on the topic and the point of the discussion, but i can say with 100% sure that i love animated avatars, this is how i remember Mys D from long ago, since i was new member here. That's what helped me to remember here easy.

Good thing you love animated avatars. Does that mean you'll be checking out my discussions more often? I'll offer you hot choco and cookies! :P ---Yeah you do that diana. That way I suddenly get 200 responses saying: "Hey did you change account? Why?" and "Huh you're a man now and so young? What did you do diana...?!" Diana, diamania, it's close... very close... Confusing is around the corner... Muahahahah *goes to psychiatric hospital*

Well, i don't agree with you. Your avatar can not get you responses. Atleast i dont respond to discussions depending on the avatars neither i see the names i just look at the subject of the discussion and if it interests me then i will respond otherwise i wont. And to get more responses you should create discussions with interesting subject. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry.

These animated avatars are very catchy to mylotters. They tend to respond to the discussion with the animated avatar of the maker. Like now, you're discussions earned many responders. I think you should make very interesting and informative discussions to attract users to respond to your discussions.

You can change your avatar in the top left corner. I don't know how to do that on a mobile device. But I guess if you have a modern device it shouldn't be different from when you're on a computer.

For me the avatar does not really make a difference. Actually your avatar is distracting. I answered from my inbox and did not see it before. If I want lots of responses I try to post things that lots of people can relate to. Things that are common for others or that they care about. I hpe you get the results you want from your avatar.

It's not so much that I want those results I'm just fiddling around and experimenting a bit. :) I am sorry it's distracting for you. Hope you'll get used to it soon. Thanks for your contribution.

I don't think animated avatars can attract responses. Animated avatars may drag my attention and I look at it for sometime, but I will respond only if I like the discussion and I have something serious to talk about it. I hate to respond just for the sake of responding and making money. I am trying to have fun by responding to discussions and reading others responses.
@diamania (7011)

Most of my discussions are of decent quality so if the avatar drags some people's attention I am happy. I also find it a funny avatar and that's what's most important. :)

Is that so? I have an animated avatar but I don't get that many responses, so I think it all depends on other things. I think users choose respond to topics based on how these topics catch their interest. It's not the avatar.

Animated avatars are attractive and will get a sudden catch. But it is not necessary that they should respond to the queries. If the topic also such an attractive one, I am sure that they will get a full response. Just like animated avatars, the real photos are also attractive. The real photos are always sensible and I have notice that many are still here with the same avatar, who never changed or modified since the very fist day of uploading. Thank-s

No indeed they won't always respond but discussions do stand out when they're posted by users with catchy and flashy avatars. Those avatars like you said don't have to be moving, if they're attractive that does the trick. :)

I think an avatar has very little or nothing to do with how many responses you receive. Someone may comment on your avatar, but,that's only after they found your discussion interesting and responded to the topic.Getting many responses will "always" depend on the topic of your discussion and the interest one has in responding to it. Plus, why would anyone take the time to respond to your discussion solely to comment on an avatar? it wouldn't be worth it.
@diamania (7011)

I didn't mean users commenting on my avatar. I mean the avatar as a way to make discussions stand out. And I was asking if you guys think it can work. :)
