Can anyone tell me why I should be paying taxes if the government wastes it outrageously?
Only stuff the government of my country spends OUR money on is keeping immigrants happy. My mum is a native inhabitant and the only stuff she gets are modest social security benefits and some tax compensation. The immigrant family next door gets plenty of compensation per kid, fantastic tax compensation, in-kind goods... etc etc. While they are too lazy to work and speak only Arabic versus my mum who's chronically ill, willing to do light volunteer work and speaking native Dutch.
Pro-immigration is on the rise ladies and gentlemen and I don't like it!

I agree with you how taxes favor those that don't deserve it. The roads were I live are shocking to say the least and a good thing I drive a SUV. Im happy my hard earned cash is going straight into helping illegal aliens in the US have warm meals at night and not to help the disabled, homeless or blind. My personal opinion, if you are in the US and not legal you don't deserve a dime! Don't speak English? Too bad as this is an English speaking country and we are not doing ourselves any favors by encouraging people not to learn English. Im all for social spending and helping but only those that put in an effort and don't demand demand demand without having any merit to get treated in such a manner.

hi team I am also an A merican citizen and hav had to fight to get ssi as I am physically handicapped but finally got it yet our illegals get all that and a lot more and I paid taxes for years. now I am lu cky that I have a good hmo. but others who are citizens here of my same age really have had to scrimp to just pay for their meds. now the illegals get everything free, its justnot right. to me illegal means they are actually criminals as they snuck in here with out being here legally.

if only they did it legally that would be fine! We built a school for the children of illegals in my city which cost if I recall $6m to build. Why should we help Vets who are homeless if we can build and encourage illegals.

I so hear you as I am a US citizen and having worked for so many years in a company that went belly.. I could not even get unemployment benefits. And this is something I have contributed my fair share of earning taxes for.
So tell me why so many others do get it though. Ugh the reasoning behind it baffles me.

In my country left-wing politicians almost always have side-jobs at multicultural organizations. So the more Islam there's in our country the higher their salary will be. Fortunately Geert Wilders is supporting this government and he has something to say about it so hopefully they can do something about Islam. Islam is everywhere nowadays and I am pretty tolerant but this is getting crazy.
Care to share the reasoning behind this all in your country with me?

Yeah as always in such cases you spend more than you'll ever see returned. I know all about law enforcers being lax. Nowadays, sometimes if you call 911 they refuse to help you in my country...
But if an immigrant calls 911, oh they're like flies flying to a turd.

There are a set of rules that do not get enforced daily. Unfortunately like in my situation one of the owners robbed the company clean. That is his issue to deal with but the fact that we all paid our taxes and ended up with nothing baffles me.
Sure I hired an attorney to battle this, yet I was spending more then I would ever see. So even though law biding citizens, sometimes we get the short end of the stick. Ugh..

hi lost my response as I did not think to copy it to clipboard. so you are in the Netherlands and here I thougfht oh another fellow American who thinks we should not be helping our illegal aliens at all bv ut should ship them back across the border to Mexico.so in the Netherlands you also have problems with your gov. helping the aliens while your own citizents get the barest of help. they do the same here as they geto food stamps and free medical care by the ton and welfare while p eople born here get just the bare minimum of help from govc.

They don't only do that with illegal aliens, they also do that with immigrants who can't be arsed to speak Dutch. Did you know that immigrants get 90% discount on pre-schooling and that schools get 90% more budget to wipe off arrears in education, especially language skills?
Holland has become an immigrantheaven and soon the whole nation will go belly up and under water thanks to immigrants pumping away all the money to other countries.

Taxes had been there since time allowed men to organize and socialize... Alas, we are bound by a certain communal order and the only way to keep that order is to tolerate the government we have, however . Alas again, all the citizens could do is to voice out their opinions and somehow, when the right winds come our way, our voices could be heard.
I am also a good taxpayer and the roads I pass on everyday are worse than the moon craters... We live with it. We are the good people.

I did read something about retired government employees cashing in petty sums because of their unused sick leaves. I think that is obscene, too. The government must look after all the citizenry, not just a few subservient wolves...

ya i am angry too with paying taxes. Most of our money goes in corruption. But we don't have any choice... Political Leaders are today's king... whatever they say we have to follow. :(

We all have to pay our taxes even though there are times and issues that we do not support. We have to bring into mind why our government has this kind of policy. If such actions of our government are not anymore acceptable to the majority of citizens then that is another case. We could take this matter to our local lawmakers for proper solution to the problem.

They have this kind of policy to make my country into an Islam state with Sharia, halal-food and war that's why. How am I supposed to support this and pay taxes?
Even if you vote for those against Islam you'll see that left-wingers here will make things worse. They're bloody pariahs.

Yes, I get what you mean. In our country we really have to pay taxes too but the past governments and officials only put the money in their pockets. We only get very little of what we are paying for.

Here it's a bit different, they do put a lot of money in their pockets due to their excessively high salary and their huge amount of side-jobs mostly for multicultural organizations, hence their determination to overload our country with immigrants.
Living in a 'sophisticated' *cough* country means absolutely nothing anymore.

well. they say the poor and the rich becomes equal when paying taxes....cause its the only thing that is fair, you buy small things, you've got small business you pay small taxes also likewise at buying bigg and expensive things and having large business... taxes are used in government projects

I agree. Taxes are a waste of money because government don't really use them in the right places. IN fact, tax payers money are often misused and abuse by people who are receving them. Taxes are supposed to help with the country's economy but i don't see any improvement in life with the tax we are paying. If ever we need anything as a country, the government would have their ways of earning back that amount of money, by increasing more tax or even introducing more stuffs to make things more expensive. At the end of it, people are getting poorer, but the country is getting richer.

As always, the richer get richer and the poor get poorer.
Except for when you're an immigrant then when you're a poor, unwilling to speak the native language of the country and unwilling to contribute to society, immigrant then suddenly the sluices packed with money and unemployment benefits go open.
I am paying loads of tax and all I see is the money being spend on what we call 'street coaches' people with low education and limited Dutch fluency telling the immigrants on the street to stay quiet or to disperse. What solution is that?!
That's just trying to take away the symptoms, half-assedly, without giving a damn about the root of the problem...

I know exactly what you mean and it's funny you should say that, just the other day my husband and I were in at the grocery store and this little was on her cell phone practically scream, saying that she arrived to the country less than a year ago and the government wasn't giving her enough money to be able to live and support her family. I am hear thinking to myself go out and get a job. But as we were leaving we noticed her leaving as well pulling out in a Lincoln Navigator brank spanking new. I was no wonder you can't afford to maintain your family. Were the hell does she get off. I've lived her my entire life and I have to work and bust my butt, to be able to provide for my family.
And then we pay taxes and social security and medicare so that they can't take advantage of the benefits. I know there are people in this world that need it, and I am not saying that everyone takes advantage of the system, but god there people that come to this country and think everything is going to be handed to them in a pot of gold.
I remember I used to have a co-worker who was cuban and didn't speak a word of english and annoyed everyone with his stories about Cuba and how Cuba this was like this and things that happened in this country would never have been allowed to happen over there and that Cuba was the best. I got so frustrated that I just told him one day "If you love Cuba so much and you think this country is so awful, why don't you just go back and do us all a favor." It annoys me how people talk about this country.
Sorry I kept on going on and on, but you are absolutely right we pay our taxes and instead of benefiting the people that actually pay these taxes we are benefiting those that just try to take advantage of the system.

Yep, exactly the same situations only the Islam is quicker on the rise than in the US, I think. Islam is also adding extra weight to the problems since left-wing politicians oftentimes have side-jobs in multicultural organizations so it's in their interest to make sure the problems get bigger. But I don't think I need to explain the way things are going on here. ;)
As for the Cuban colleague of yours, I also feel like saying that to people, but if I'd do that sure as hell anytime soon, I'll have an extra hole in my head, so I'd rather not do that.
I believe they shouldn't allow any more immigrants in for a couple of years to fix the problems here and I really don't care about families who are in danger in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia or wherever. We have our problems here and that's top priority. But it's all in vain we know it's not going to happen.
There comes a time when I'll be moving out of the country. I can't take this much longer.

Why is this so? Who makes the laws? I would presume it's a parliamentary form of government. Not paying taxes although a good form of protest might not be the best thing to do considering it might get you into more trouble than you bargained for. If election is forthcoming, I think it would be better to give the politician or whoever it is that enacted the unfair law a piece of your mind. You can also write who ever represents your community or talk to him personally(if that is possible) to air your plight. If there are more of you who feels the same sentiment, then maybe you can organize a peaceful protest to be heard. Good luck and stay away from unnecessary troubles

Yep it's the parliament who comes up with the bills and they pass them or not. Inhabitants can suggest bills only if they have collected a certain amount of autographs. And really I don't feel like going on the streets collecting them. With all those immigrants here it might just be you get a crazy guy chasing after you, no thanks.
All the problems come from the left-wing politicians who agreed a bill saying that immigrants who were originally hired by companies to do the dirty jobs were allowed to stay and get Dutch nationality. And I have to be honest here, the original idea to even hire these immigrants came from right-wingers but it were the left-wingers making them 'Dutch'.
Fortunately this year we have a Right-Winged minority government supported by the Freedom Party of our big friend Geert Wilders. Everyone thinks he's in the government but he's not, he supports it, just a side-note. Now it's up to him and his right-wing colleagues to fix as much as possible soon. Because Sharia is coming to town and when it's become a full-fledged judicial we even bigger problems than before.
Thanks your contribution!
