Who knew that a fictional toy cowgirl doll could make you sad, if you saw the film you know the scene I'm referring to. its the scene when Jessie the cow girl doll was remember when her child friend grew up and left her in a box and gave her away
Aww man the scene was so sad, and I'm not a cryer but I sure felt sad while watching that scene as the song by Sarah McLachlan, played and the sequence of scenes goes by showing the fun days Jessie had with her owner/friend and then showing the final stages when her owner/friend grow up, I had the biggest lump in my throat hahaha but then reality set in that it was just a fictional character goodness they got me did they get you too?

Hiya apples,
To tell you the truth I have not seen one of these Films yet. But I felt almost the same when in Terminator II I think it was Arnie or Terminator sacrificed himself for the good of Humanity so to speak. You know when he was falling to bits in that acid bath thing. I thought that was quite sad I also love the little Robot R2D2 as well and all those funny squeaky noises he makes.
I know it´s a funny comparison but to me it´s almost the same. At least the sentiment is.

Those folks really know how to pull
on the heart strings awful hard!
I got a chance to see that movie
before I had my daughter and it was
just so sad that I stopped watching
at that scene. I just couldn't endure
the movie past that point.
Years later, it turned out to be my
daughter's favorite movie of all time,
especially when she was two and three years
old.
She would tote the VHS copy of Toy Story 2
around the house and try to insert into any
machine she thought would play it.
Actually, that was back when we still had
a VCR and still used VCR tapes, which wasn't
that long ago, considering we're kind of
technologically challenged here.
These days, whenever she wants to
watch Toy story 2 or any other movie,
she boots up our computer and goes online
to watch movies on the Netflix streaming site
or on our ROKU.
We've come a long way since the VCR days.

The scene where Andy is going off to college was the saddest moment for me. I know Andy was going off to college and wanted the toys to have a great home, but my tissue box was needed a lot.
The scene you mentioned is a sad one, but didn't bring tears to my eyes.
This is really a great movie and I highly recommend everyone watch it.

That scene you mentioned about Jessie and Emily already grown up and gave away was a sad scene. But for me, the sad moment that got to me more was when Woody was looking at the TV. He has already decided that he won't leave with Buzz and the other toys, and would come with the roung-up gang to Japan. On the television was a puppet Woody singing "You've Got A Friend In Me" and a young boy him. This reminded Woody of Andy.
Both the Jessie and Woody moments are great scenes.

greetings
I didn't really feel that sad during this scene. i guess it is because I am a guy and don't really relate to dolls. What did get me sad however, is the Toy Story 3 moment when Andy has to choose between Buzz and Woody. Another scene was when Andy gave his toys away to Bonnie to take care of as he went to college.
