Today it is Raining

I love the rain. I know many people do not, but I really do. If there isn't any wind, then I like to leave the windows open so I can listen to the rain as it pours and cleanses the earth. I find that it makes everything so much more purer and fresher. Of course, getting caught out without an umbrella really sucks. So does not wearing the right shoes. But, when it is pouring out and I am indoors, it has a wonderful ambiance and it is great to just have a hot cocoa and a great book. What about others, do you feel that the rain is a nuisance or something refreshing? Any comments are welcome. I was out in the rain earlier, before it really started pouring, so I am still in a good frame of mind (unlike if I really got soaked...which would probably be a different discussion...)

I love it when it rains when I'm indoors and doing nothing. I'd get a book, some hot choco or coffee, cozy up in bed and read to my heart's content. But, it could be a nuisance when you have things to do, or places to go to. A drizzle is fine, but a downpour could really dampen your spirit.

Same here. Exact same sentiments. I think it is peaceful to find that there is a similar "nostalgia" that we have throughout the world. Very spiritual. :)

Yes, I feel that everytime I read the responses of lotters in other countries and realize that we're all made of the same stuff after all.

Rain is good, in moderation. Just like snow, wind, etc. All is good in moderation. It's actually raining here right now too although I don't like rain in the winter. It's going to freeze and turn into ice overnight, which makes me a little afraid for the drive to work early tomorrow morning. But in the summer, or any time when the temperature is not below freezing (32 F), I am fine with it.

That is when it is scary, always, when driving. We have monsoons here, that are just as scary as the sleet (or iced roads) that you probably have. Be Careful!Safe driving...

Exactly, lol. That is what I was thinking. I would've been in a totally different mind frame if I were caught in it. In my hometown, it is all about rain. And when I used to go to school about 30 minutes away, that was where it really, really poured. Without the levies, the whole city would be underwater. Just walking to classes, my jeans would be soaked to the knees (not fond memories, lol). There was one year, that I still refer to as The Year of The Rain (figuratively too)...

I love rainy days when I don't have to go out in it. I love the sound too as does my significant other. Its just great to have a cup of tea and watch a good movie or read a good book without interruptions. I feel the same as you that once it rains it cleans the earth of dirt and dust. The smell of rain alone is wonderful to me. The best thing though is going to bed while its raining. Its just a great way to fall to sleep in my opinion.

Yes, that is how I slept last night...although in the apartment complex next to mine, some crazy people were out as it poured (and not like the "dancing in the rain" type of people, lol...more like the "stumbling and not sober"...

I woke up in a light rain, it feels good and the feelingis cold but I worried about my washed clothes. I am afraid of heavy rain with wind, the rain is still light as of this moment.

Yeah, that is kind of like here...no rain. Unlike when I used to live in CA. Major downpours then...

During winters, I would rather have the rain than snow. It is a little bit warmer when it is raining, and it does have a soothing effect if you hear it on the roof when you're about to sleep.
Of course I would always take a sunny day over rain, but for these holidays I don't think rain is that bad.

It depends on the situation. But usually I appreciate the rain. Although sometimes it gives me the feeling of sadness, sometimes it's kinda depressing. Well, it depends on an individual's perspective and situation. Rain isn't bad afterall when you view it in a different perspective, like your perspective.
