Guys I have seen lots of batsman in last 15-20 years with lots of great statistics but believe me I am an admirer of those batsman who have always thrive under pressure situation n not who have great statistically bcoz sum1 says "Genius is more lived experience than statistics" n i believe that unarguably.. Steve Waugh, Michael Bevan, Inzimam-ul-Haq, Allan Border, Neil Fairbrother, Andy Flower, Arjuna Ranatunga, VVS Laxman to name a few. What your choice ?

When you said Mr. dependable th first name came to my mind is that of Eknath Solkar whose baptism in cricket came in crisis period only. The Test match at Nagpur against lowly New Zealand who were on brink of a win, first ever against India in India, Solkar along with rain god saved the match for a India. In that infamous 1971 tour of West Indies where India won the series 1-0 first time in W.I., It was Solkar along with Dilip Sardessai who managed to hold the fort for India in first 2 matches. It was then Gavaskar who joined the party and achieved unthinkable at that time. In English tour of 1972 when India were balled out for 42, Solkar the lone batsman fighting with 18 N.O.. and there are many more and thats why he was nicknamed Mr. Dependable.

Most batsmen are very edgy under pressure. Even Sachin Tendulkar is... But, VVS Laxman has been phenomenal under pressure. He has proved time and again, that he thrives under pressure and in fact pressure brings out the best in him!! Virender Sehwag is another player who doesn't care about pressure. If the ball is there to be hit, it stays hit, no matter what the match situation is.. But, the King of "Under No Pressure" should surely go to Sir Viv Richards. He, like Sehwag these days, used to bat in his own zone. He rarely showed pressure, if he had any.

I will go with Sehwag, because he doesn't feels pressure. He just bats out in similar style. He has told it before. And when he bats the bowlers feels pressure. But I will not say he is completly out of pressure.

for me its VVS laxman. he is the best second innings batsman in the world. he scores also when the team is following on. he is just amazing with his dedication and patiance. i think, first innings he reads the pitch and in second innings he delivers the maximum.

I think the best batsman under the pressure is VVS Laxman. He is a man who have proved himself many times and scored tons of run when the team was in pressure. I Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh is also the players who play their own aggressive game no matter what condition is it. They don't take pressure and can turn the match any time.

i think every batsman selected in the international team got talent to do this.... just many of them don't keep ther head cool like Sehwag,Dilshan..they just tend making runs quickly... and the best ones to handle pressure according to me are Inzimam-ul-Haq,Ricky Ponting,Rahul Dravid,VVS Laxman,Mahela Jaywardene,Andy Flower,Jacques Kallis..... and according to me the newer ones include Hashim Amla
