dslr or video cam?

I'd recommend a DSLR that also has HD video capabilities. If you're seriously interested in still photography, a DSLR is a must. If you're also interested in making videos, then a DSLR with HD video capabilities is a very affordable way to make professional looking videos. My brother is a filmmaker and he recently directed a music video that was shot entirely using a Canon DSLR. My brother (who uses professional video equipment) was amazed at the quality of the video and how inexpensive the camera was.
