My television mistake

I am so annoyed with myself. My daughter messed up my television yesterday and so we went to buy a new one. I got the most inexpensive one that I could find. It was $99. I was so happy to set it up today for my kids to watch their movies.
I got up and had my kids help me clean up their toys that hadent gotten picked up the night before. I then went and opened the box to our new tv. The tv screen was pretty small but I never watch movies only very rarely so what did I care the least expensive tv was what I wanted.
I looked in the bottom as I was getting to set it up. I thought to myself oh cool you can use this as a tv or a computer monitor! My daughter said mommy where is the remote? Then I realized that it was not a tv at all that if it doesnt have a remote with it that it is only a computer monitor. Now I am so mad because I have to drive 45 minutes back to where I was and get a new tv. I will have to give my daughter medicine so she wont get car sick again and then after getting our new tv I will take the kids to Chuck E Cheese to play before bringing them home to go to their fathers house after he gets home from work.

Well it was certaily a mistake you did in a hurry, decisions taken in a hurry are usually wrong, well how can one get a tv for just 99, you were excited and hence this mistake lol.
Last evening i had been to mall, there i saw 'pure leather belts' for 250 rupees, i bought one of brown color, it was soft..
On coming home, i showed it to my wife and daughter in law, my granddaughter asked me to wear it, ohh my god, what a mistake, it was so short, i needed a longer one..
Thank you so much for sharing.

Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Well it looked exactly like our television is now that I went and bought except it had different plugs so it couldnt be used as a television it could only be used as a computer monitor. Before computer monitors looked totally different then televisions but now they have gotten rid of the big chunky tvs and big chunky monitors and they have only the flat screen tvs and monitors which look just the same.

I guess that's something we really take for granted. When we say TV, we don't even think about the remote. It is always assumed that the TV came with it.
I am more surprised that TV's without remote are still being sold. Granted it was a cheap one, but I would have thought that it still came with it.
Hope you got a better one!

Well it was actually a computer monitor that I bought so it wouldnt work as a tv at all. It didnt have the right hook ups to be a tv. I needed the tv to be able to be put on video or game mode so I could play movies from the dvd/vcr onto the tv. My old tv wouldnt go to that channel without the universal remote as we had lost the original remote to that television. I dont care for a remote to like sit on the couch and flip through channels since I dont even have cable its just that I needed a remote so I could let the kids watch movies.

Don't blame yourself for this mistake. We are all in the same boat. I am not that technically savy either. I could see me making the same mistake. lol You just have to laugh at yourself when things like this happen.

Oh man! I hate it when I do stuff like that! It's so frustrating because it's like a larger purchase and you can't just make due with it and suck it up!

Yep. It was $99 and the whole point of going up there was to get it so I didnt want to keep it until a week and then go back up so I just went back up the next day while my kids were at their fathers and got a new tv. It wasent to bad priced it was $148. Its pretty small but it works and my kids love it.

I end up doing things like this all the time. It can be quite frustrating. I think the worst I have done is bought the wrong cold medicine, but I have definitely bought the wrong appliances before. I always end up not going back to the store.

I try not to make mistakes like this but I am just an airhead sometimes lol. At least if you buy the wrong cold medicines you are only out a few dollars if you dont feel like returning it to the store. In my case if I didnt return the computer monitor I would have been out $99 plus tax. I couldnt afford that and I didnt need a computer monitor sitting around my house collecting dust either lol.
