I kinda remember few months ago something goes viral in facebook, you will receive a message that beware of the message that says "teenage girl commited suicide after receiving a mean message from her father in her facebook account. " I remember warnings that it was a self replicating trojan virus that can ruin your facebook account and your computer. people panic so they forwarded the message of warning so no one will fall for the virus... I fell for it and forwarded it to my friends and it caused a piggy back effect. Guess what there is no virus, There is no girl who commited suicide and everything is just a hoax created to make the community panic.

Few days ago, even i received a message from a friend of mine asking me to check out a link. It was kind of weird and unexpected message. But don't know what came into my mind, i just followed the link and finally got a warning message from my anti-virus stating a particular strain of trojan virus. When i inquired my friend about the message, he said, he didn't know how that same message was forwarded to everyone in her contact list. Never expected such thing in facebook.

The same thing happens with emails. I've recieved messages telling to forward the email message to ten people or something like that or I will get bad luck. I don't believe in those things so I just delete the message. There was one email that I've gotten where it was something like Microsoft is going to shut off its email service. To continue using hotmail, please forward it to 10 people.

These type of things have been going on since oh over 10 years now online. Many hoax's many emails saying if you don't forward... something bad will happen, if you do then you will have whatever.. I don't forward an email unless it is one that makes sense to forward. Usually something between family or friends. Not those that are flying around the world.. I know there are emails that have caused computers to crash, computers to give out all your information, etc. I just don't even open them anymore. Facebook is getting hit because it is another way to get people to fall for these types of things.. Oh it is also away to get an email list to sell to vendors who are spamming our spam folders for you to buy something or look at their blog or website.....lol Cause I trash my spam...
