potty training

Dose any one have any tips on how to potty train a child who is mentally behind? she just turned 3 but is at the stage of an 18 month old to a 2 year old? I need some good ideas any help is appreciated. thank you very much!

Hello lady,how is she diapered now,disposable diapers or cloth? What have you tried? Many children that may be behind will train at the normal speed of the age they are at,you are actually at the right age to start. Please answer the questions I have asked and I will be happy to give you all the help I can.

There's lots of "systems" you could use. You can try buying her fun "big girl" panties and a doll that uses the potty as well. Show her how the doll gose potty and try to get her to do the same. Be overly excited when she uses the potty and praise her to no end! Also, set up a sticker chart in the bathroom every time she gose, give her a sticker! Dr. Phil also has great potty training ideas!
