If teachers don't care, then students won't.

There are a lot of teachers in the educational system that really do not put in any effort of making their students care. Because they themselves do not care. There are people who just are paycheck zombies. Therefore, the future of many are compromised. Students really cannot get too excited about learning, when they see the teachers not too excited about teaching.

I think the vast majority of my teachers were good. However the one's that were not, well they really do stick out. And it shows, oh boy does it show. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi dear,
I cannot fully agree with you. When we think of such things about a common mass, it cannot be always correct. There are a lot of teachers fully dedicated time for teaching and students. I personally know few of them. Also, I worked as a teacher for 2 years and more and got the best teacher award within this short period. It was my self desire to leave the profession, but I forced to do the same. The reason is there in your question itself.
Now every field is motivated by business and teaching is also a part of business and for many, it is their life profession and they work in such a way. Also, the teachers are to face a lot of students daily with different natures and attitudes. Making them to an efficient student is not so easy matter and a dedicated and best teachers only can do the job.
Many are in this field to earn money and most of the schools and colleges and such institutional are running ONLY for earning money. Their ultimate aim is to make money and not to provide EDUCATION. A few bad tempered student is good enough to spoil the entire class and such students are the nightmare to many teachers. Even the students have to play their role well and the teachers become real teachers and they are MAINLY motivating by the students only.
In one way we all are teachers and the only difference is that we don't have a recognized or qualified certificate for teaching.
So we cannot tell all teachers are with the same nature, there are a few dedicated ones and they have a lot to tell. I think if there any teacher here must have here to tell more on it. My 2 years of experience was really a landmark in my life and I like the profession of teaching but unfortunately I didn't teach many students, which even I like the profession.
Happy New Year
Thank-s

I think that you are very much right. There are a lot of good teachers like I said. However, the bad ones do stand out. The really good ones do stand out as well. It is one of those things where I think that if the teachers do their jobs right, then it will show. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi dear,
Thank you for your comments.
You are absolutely right. Some odd ones are the destructor to the entire community of teachers. Even I quit my profession from the teaching also because of such few co-workers only. As it is a long story, I prefer not to comment. I could have ignore the issue, but a group of students were the victim for their bad things. My escape made no good to the children and I felt sorry for them, but had to do it. But my resignation could make some shake in the area and made certain improvement and rethinking among other teachers.
After few years, they wrote a letter to me once they realised their mistake and apologised for me and called me back. However, as I settled somewhere else and prefer to not to go back, I regret to it. But I am happy as they realised their mistakes and ready to accept their wrong doings.
A teacher should be open hearted and he/she should know what they are and what they do for the society. Their dignity has a different value than any other profession. They are the passage to the knowledge and they never should be corrupt and should be impartial.
Thank-s

Teachers who teach in the government schools are considered as government servants.
Recently, our government has imposed the yearly KPI program to evaluate the performance of the government servants.
Because of this rule, the teaching life of the teachers will be tougher.
Their teaching characters have improved very much.
I just hope such KPI system can be imposed to the teachers to improve the teaching character at your place.

Hopefully that works out. I really do hope that works out. We need something to make the teachers accountable for their teaching abilities. So I'm crossing my fingers to hope this works. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

If you are to become a teacher then you should have a petion for what you are teaching if the students see you love it it well give them the drive to try. so i belive you are right. This is why we have so many kids not caring.

It does inspire students when the teacher is inspiring. A great teacher can make students that do not so well a bit better and students that do well even greater. Granted, its not always the case, but without the proper teacher, its going to be hard to deal with. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

There needs to be a lot of changes for sure in some areas. I think that finding some teachers who actually do care is the first step to replace that fraction that does not. The problem is that this is easier said that done. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I'm fortunate that I had the best teachers who not only taught but also cared. I will never forget how they would go the extra mile to make the classroom situation conducive to learning. As a result, school had been enjoyable for me, that is, insofar as my favorite teachers are concerned. To my half-hearted teachers, well, I don't give them all the blame. Students will suffer most if they wait for the teacher to be enthusiastic so they would take their studies seriously. It's not just about the grade, it's about learning something that will be of practical help at the end of the school day. :)

Yes, I think in some cases, the good students will try and succeed in spite the teachers. Still it makes it much more of a chore than it should be. Which is why many students do stop caring, except for the really dedicated ones. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

That is quite correct...
Bad teachers can easily put a stop on eagerness of even most persistent student. Can't say opposite it true though...
I've been in many educational systems, and would like to say this system also plays its part. It not only makes teachers uncaring, also students get used to learn by rot (and then forget it). Why, I've seen people who score high in subject they have zero knowledge about.. Even books written are mere copy paste jobs with lot of spelling and grammar mistakes!
I hope that wasn't off topic! My experience here: I liked one of my teacher for his caring attitude. He was so dynamic but either his subject was really bore or he couldn't figure what to make of it (He had quite a knowledge, in case you wonder)..
I knew I can never excel in the subject but I liked the teacher nonetheless. Subject too.

Yes it is really when you think about it, one trickle down of not caring. The administration does not care. Thus the teachers do not care. The teaches do not care, thus the students do not really care. Plus there is just too much mindless learning and not really anything that sticks. There are a few classes that I attended that I just forgot everything. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

hi. i don't mean to argue you with you, but i have to say i can't agree with you on this topic. i'm a college teacher myself, and ever since i entered into teaching, i've been putting great efforts and energy into teaching, caring about each student and encouraging each in his or her studies. most of my colleagues around me are dedicated as well.
people usually tend to put blame on teachers rather than on students themselves, though most of the time it's students' fault. i admit there are some irresponsible teachers whose chief priority is making money while paying little attention to students'studies. but they are just a small proportion. most teachers are devoted.

I think your experiences may vary. I think that there are times where it is in fact the student's fault. Again, I think that some people have been blessed with good experiences in this front and many like you who have worked are dedicated in this front. Others, not so much, and it is really something that really does vary. Still it is always nice to getting a differing perspective, as the topic would be bland if everyone agreed. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yeah, I think so many typical of teacher. Sometimes, some teacher wants their student study by your self with read a book and the teacher only give some exercise. The want their student can be more independents. So, about the teacher is depent on their methods, teach their student.
Happy new year and happy lotting :D

Yeah, if I wanted to self study, the Internet is right there. I mean, why even bothering going to school? That can really can hammer the spirit of the student, as it just seems like wasted time. i do believe that the education of our children has to begin with a teacher. if a teacher gives up, it won;t be long before the student does too. Encouragement for educstion begins and end with the teacher who will pass it on along the way.

You hit the nail right on the head I think. The teacher is the key to the education. They are the ones imparting the knowledge and leading the students along the way. Without them, the educational process just does not work. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I agree. I have seen some teachers that are like that. i don't even get why they chose to teach if they're not going to be serious about it. It really has a bad effect on students if they see their teacher doesn't care too much, I hope teachers like that are replaced..

Sadly, I do think that there was no one else for the job a lot of the time. Therefore, schools take what they can get. Even though what they can get really does leave something to be desired. I couldn't agree with you more. I am an instructor and i teach adults and the most common requirements in this kind of job that i am in is the passion that the teacher put into her teachings. The student can definitely feel whether they are well taken care of or whether the teacher really is concerned about their studies or not.
A teaching profession is a calling that needs a lot of passion not concerning too much about the money but caring how we share our knowledge to our students. We can feel satisfaction only when we see our students succeed!

It always does warm my heart to see teachers who do have passion for the work that they are in. It is all about shaping the next generation. The people who will be running the world that you'll be retiring in some day. Perhaps the future teachers as well for all you know. Thank you for your response. I completely agree with you there. I don't respect teachers who treat students like numbers. And then there are some teachers who just wants to make the students suffer and they love bragging about it.
Teachers are supposed to make better men and women out of their students. But since they don't care and some even want to make them suffer, the students end up losing their future. And to think we pay a lot of money for these kind of teachers.

Teachers that enjoy making students suffer annoy me. Especially the kinds who take great pride with bragging about how that no student has ever gotten a good grade in their class. That really does annoy me a lot. Really, is that anything to brag about? I think that they're just covering that they're a bad teacher. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

It is really a shame. I do hope that the slide can reverse. Because it is just going to be get much worse if it continues to go at its rate. I do think that there are still good teachers out there, many of them, but the bad teachers do really stand up and then it causes other teachers to give up in a way, which has an affect on the student. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I do have to somewhat agree that sometimes it is difficult to get interested in a course, when you don't really like the teacher to begin with, or the teacher does not care. But at the same time, if a student really want to succeed, then the teacher won't really matter. I have had my share of teachers I didn't like. I still made it to university.

I think if a student does want to succeed, they will. However, the road there will be much more rockier than it really needs to be. Then there will be a lot of students that will get cut off because of the bad teaching. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I do agree with you on this one. There seems to be many teachers that just don't seem to be that interested in teaching or what they teach. It seems that they are just interested in getting home and having there money from teaching, yet with very little effort put in. Yes i would say that there are some students who want to mess around and don't want to be taught but others do, this does not mean that teachers should drop there standards to the levels of the students who just don't care. The teachers need to make things more fun and interesting so that students pay attention and actually learn.

Very true, the teachers should not lower themselves. They should be the standards that the students should reach. Therefore, bad standards to see equals bad standards to reach. It is just rather mind numbing. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

A lot of teachers now are not that dedicated to what they pledge for. They must be a model for students. I'm still a student now, and I observed that very few are really dedicated to teach us what we have to learn. Most of them, wants to revenge from their student life and experience. Some are money making teachers who don't even mind what the heck are they doing in school.
Many people now, thinks of study as a diploma only but not the lesson itself. They are after the title they will get afterwards, just because the teachers taught them. I hope this kind of drama must be modify.

Yes, people just consider school to be for getting the diploma. However, it is just something that sets us up for life. It is really only the beginning of learning when you think about it. So you want to get off on the right food with good teachers. Problem is, there are not as many good teachers as they should be. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

this is very much true. It also has to do with the students prefrence. I had 2 teachers in Maths and History that didnt care very much at all. I hated maths but knew I had to do good in it, and I love History. I took History seriously and taught myself and ended up getting an A* but in Maths I got a B even though I was predicted an A*. Teachers make all the diffrence
