Is it worth it

Is it worth it to make just a bit extra money per month if you are gonna have to pay most of it in taxes. Or do you prefer to just live with a budget and look at any extra as "found" money maybe under the table type?

For sure earn more even though a lot will go into taxes. When I retire I can get my social security amount back(if they still have funds) so its a way for me to ensure extra earning in the long run. Working under the table might earn more but its unethical and also illegal but can see with such crazy tax why many do such jobs here and there.

I agree it's unethical.
I try to report everything. I make so little for my family of five it really doesn't matter.
I think they told us to report it if we made something like $250 extra in a month.
