I would like to get some feedback. We know that God created with in six days and on the seventh day He rested from His work. My question is how long do you thing the six days were? Were they six- 24hr days, or six thousand years. God says a day to Him is 1000 years to us. I would like to get some opinions on this.

God uses the 1 day- 1000 year analagy to explain life outside of time as it will be in heaven God created time and worked within it to create the universe this is clearly explained when he uses the sun going up and down to define the term "day"

Thank you for you response ajett1. This has been something I always wondered about. It may be something trivial but I guess it is that human curiosity we have. I will do more research on this. But, what you say does make sense. Thanks again and Happy New years.

This is where one starts to clear-up what matters and -what does not matter, because 'time' DOES NOT MATTER to God (except as it matters to you). I think the point is that after you finish 'a work,' you need a little time to sit back and enjoy it before you start on the next one.

My personal opinion is that it was one day - morning and evening. It didn't take a thousand years for the sun to rise and set. I think it was one day each.. but I can't argue the point at all!

The author of book of Genesis has tried to explain the Creation event symbolically. He has tried to explain God's plan and the care and concerned he showed in preparing the world for us. We should not take it literally.
