Everything is "dying"

I am sick and tired of the following article, news segment, or just general conversation. It starts with a broad and silly title saying "xxxxxx" is dying or dead. It has been everything from print, television, movies, music, the news, politics, and every other imaginable thing possible. The second there is a lull in anything every last pundit, blogger, and random joe shmoe is proclaiming the death of the medium. What's worse is, usually the evidence in said article is lacking too and just an excuse to fill up space and make some cash. None of those mediums are dying, they are all changing is all. More people use the internet for well everything (sadly the internet is also dying) and the system to judge the success or failure of things hasn't adjusted.
Just one of my pet peeves is all, anyone else feel tired of seeing the premature proclamations of death of mediums?

That's what media does best..fill up space. Media likes the "hot items" and will blast them until they literally run out of ink, paper or pencil to write more about it!

With all due respect, one wouldn't say "For our entertainment news today, Sir Ian Mckellen, who portrayed Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy is still alive." This sounds a bit boring don't you think? Let alone when they start to enumerate everyone else who are still alive and kicking. When a certain personality passes away, the admirers should know about it that's why the media announce it. I know it sounds exhausting upon hearing a lot of it but you can always switch to another channel or another station or just switch it off to avoid getting affected by it.

Isn't that what this is?
It appears to me this is barely different from the description you give.
I think that uncreative people make a big deal out of change even it first occurs. Usually change is good, such as automobile safety and technology. Think back 5 or 6 years ago to the size of televisions... They were huge compared to the size they ate made today.
Technically all living things are dying from the moment their born. Depressing to think about.
