How did you feel when you got your first rejection? My first rejection was from the fantasy magazine Realms of Fantasy. I had written a short story, but it was more of an urban fantasy and was very short, so I didn't really think I'd get accepted. I still like some of the ideas from my story, and may use them later on. I'm working on a longer short story to send in, and it may be another rejection, who knows, but everyone needs a few rejections to refine their craft!
So, what was your first rejection and how did you react?

My first rejection came from a magazine. I wrote a public interest article about the then stand-off in WAco. But they said it "didn't meet their editorial needs." Yeah, right - they didn't want to deal with the controversial topic at the time.. sheesh! I found that article not too long ago - it wasn't bad really!

Yes, that can happen too. It seems you have to be famous before you are allowed to say/write anything controversial!

You can go and write for Triond, if you haven't done so and they accept almost everything. I have not had one rejection yet and I have about 70 articles published on the internet.
Rejection is only one opinion. Others may appreciate what one person did not. So never give up if you have a dream!
