Tomorrow is the start of the new year and there is a big hype about it.
But, when you think about it, is it really worth celebrating it? I do not find anything positive about it.
First of all, as years pass, things just get worse, corruption and crime and more problems arrive. The New Year celebration is nothing but false hope for a better year ahead. Not only that it is only hope and no actions.
How about the New Year's Resolution, why wait change the next year? Why not deal with your own issues NOW? Because of this New Year celebration people tend to have this I'll sin now and change next year mentality.
And then we have the fireworks, I live on a poor country and yet people spend fortune blowing things up. This leads to nothing but garbage and fire. Not to mention severed fingers and body parts.
I don't know about the customs of New Year in other countries, but the way I see things here in my country... I just see it as something useless.

To me it is just another day a lot of the time. It just makes me a bit downed in a lot of ways, as a New Year's Eve just means that its the end of another year. Really the only thing that will be different tomorrow that is not different the other day, is that we have to remember to write a new year for the date.

It is a shame you feel that way.
I like new year's as a holiday because it let's us create a new beginning giving us the chance to start fresh or change things we don't like. I use it as a reminder or wake up call. you really do get back what you put into your life, if you don't look for the good in things you might only see the bad.
