Listen MP3s on Cellphone

Hi friends,recently I am using my cellphone to enjoy my favorite music. I have good collection of live recordings in my PC. These are quite large in size and when I load a few of them to my Cellphone there remains no more space for other media like taking photos or videos. One solution is to increase storage capacity. I was thinking of another solution. I noticed that the music I record on my cellphone are .amr files and those are quite smaller in size compared to regular MP3s. Is there any way to convert MP3s into these format so that I can store more files in my cellphone? Can I convert all my MP3s lying in my PC into these format and play them in my PC with standard MP3 player? Or will I need some specialized player to play those .amr files in my PC? If there is any such player where can I get it? Wishing you all a very happy new year
