I have never been a Ponting fan. But just the way the press & the ex-players are treating him, makes me feel sorry for him. Despite his recent lack of success, Punter still remains the most successful captain ever & an all time great batsmen. He has been arrogant at times & unsportsmanlike too but doesn't he deserve better treatment at the twilight of his career, especially from the Aussie media which adored him couple of years back ? Do you feel sorry for him too or does he deserve what he is getting ?

Absolutely not!! He played his game hard and was never sorry for any of his opponents. Now that he is getting the rough end of the deals why should anyone feel sorry for him. He never had a kind word for his opponents and now can't find a kind word from any of his opponents. The problem for Ponting was that he achieved too much success without really putting in effort and now that is coming back to haunt him. I am not talking about his batting, but his captaincy here. He was successful because he had world beaters in his team and not because his captaincy was top of the world. As soon as these players started to leave the team, he was exposed. Now I think the selectors are looking to ease him out of the team!! Cheers! Ram

I think Ricky Pointing should try to play for the 20/20 cricket and I would like to see him play in IPL and BPL.

No, i don't. I don't feel sorry for ricky ponting. As he is not performing well as a captain and as a batsman so it was quite obvious that the former australian batsman and the media will critisize him. So i don't feel sorry for him in this matter. But he may have a last chance to prove himself in the worldcup. So lets see what happens. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry.

Ricky Pointing is right now out of form right now and should be rotated and given rest. I always believe best form players should be in the team and the rest of the players should be given adequate rest and should be allowed to practice in the domestic games to get some form.

No I do not feel sorry for him. What he is getting now is what he deserves. He is arrogant, lacks sportsman spirit and under rates the opposite team. Media might be foregrounding him but personally I do not think he is one of the greatest cricketers in the world.

In cricket success alone taken to account. Not only Australia but the condition is the same in all the cricket playing countries.Continious success will never happen. The critisism is not fair in my opinion.

U have always admired ricky as a batsman and a captain . But there is no room for sorry feeling here . You are suppose to expect a downslide in your carrier especially at international sports . I have seen many players coming back strongly after bad patches.

I think Ricky Pointing had burned and should be rested for couple of matches. I always believe in rotation of the players so that they are kept injury free and also when the pool of players can be increased. Sometimes I do think Ricky Pointing is very aggressive and arrogant. I think right now Aussie media is against him mostly because they have lost lots of matches especially Ashes and most of the players are not in good form.
