is our profile safe on social networking site?

as many people adds their photos and personal information and we kno that only our friends can access it but can one really trust on all his friends as we have seen some severe things happening in past due to such facebook and orkut activities.so sometime one tends to get the feeling that even only our friends are accessing our profile ,is it really safe?

Well it depends on what kind of personal information you are putting on a profile. Obviously it is not smart to put your address or phone number on it, but pictures really aren't a big deal as so long as they are appropriate.

yeah it is definitely upto the individual whether he wants to put his personal contact details on profile or not.and one really should try to avoid it as many other nowdays could see it even if they are not in your friend list.regards.keep mylotting.

I think, it is not completely safe in any site we share our personal information..
Especially the photos and other personal stuffs are very sensitive and we can share it with friends who are completely trustable, yet it is highly advisable not to share too many information about us in any site as it may lead to some unidentifiable things.
There should be a limit in what we share, if we add some little photos, we can remove it when we feel when we are not secured, but if we add more photos it becomes impossible to remove them..
