Thought I busted my jaw

I was loading my outdoor wood furnace last night when i picked up a large chunk of maple. It was a crotch piece with a leg sticking out. When I heaved it off of the ground the stupid leg piece came up and wacked me right in the jaw! Ouch!!
It really rung my bell and I heard a "Crack" in my jaw.
I was like great a trip to the hospital.
I went inside without loading the furnace and couldn't hardly tell my wife what happend. But after a couple minutes it settled into a dull ache and I went back out and loaded the furnace.
My ears were still ringing when I went to bed but I could open my mouth with hardly any pain. Still aches some and I have a headache but I thing I am not too damaged.

Oh my so sorry to hear this, place some warm compresses on the outside of your jaw. This will soothe the pain and help with the swelling.
I sure hope it heals soon.

Yea you just hit one of those spots. Like the not so funny bone. Probably bruised your jaw bone pretty good. Gotta love those spots though when ya hit them you feel like you are going to die. And then ten minutes later you're like wow I think I am actually okay. Glad your jaw isn't broke that would be no fun for New Years.
