What did they put in my Mud Pie?

Wow, my friends, something quite different happened to me and those who think I am too serious will laugh to hear it. As some of you know, I am a total teetotaller and never took a drink of alcohol in my life. But there is a restaurant near my vacation home that I had been wanted to try for years and finally after Christmas we went there. The food was really good, but they served the wrong entree and to make amends, the restaurant offered me a free dessert. It was a decadently rich slice of mud pie ice cream, frozen solid with coffee crunches and dark chocolate on top, drenched liberally with what the waitress said was rasberry puree. OK, it was very good and I ate the whole thing, but before long I was feeling very giggly and began to suspect that dessert was laced with something strong, probably Kahlua. I know it\t wasn't something in my drink because I only had water. I had to tell my friend that maybe he should drive my car home. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Have you ever made and/or eaten a dessert that made you tipsy? What did you put in it? Happy New Year everyone, and if you eat a spiked mud pie, try not to drive, RFLOL...

That sounds yummy, but I bet there was some kind of liqueur in the raspberry sauce. So many places just assume everyone drinks and is accustomed to strong beverages. I can imagine that it hit you pretty hard, I know it would me. Have a happy New Year. I am glad you got to try out the restaurant that you have wanted to see.

Yeah, and see, I can't even spell raspberry right any more. Heh, heh, heh. I hope that 2011 is a year that makes all your dreams come true. Best regards to you and your hunny during this joyous holiday season.

It certainly was delicious. Just thinking about it makes me want to go have a slice of Hershey's frozen chocolate pie. No kahlua in that!

Oh boy, that dessert sounds so yummy the way you described it - quite decadent in fact! I must admit, I have never had a dessert that made me tipsy! There would have probably been Kahlua in it for sure, both in the coffee crunches and in the dark chocolate on top. If you are a tee-totaller, I'm not surprised it had that effect on you! Happy New Year drannhh!

It was certainly a surprise to me. So that is what made the coffee crunches taste so good. 2011 is going to be a very good year. You too!

Hi drannhh! I wish you a Happy and Healthy happy New Year too,the dessert is really mouth-watering and very tempting the way you have described it is another skill you are well versed with it how to present it,while being a teetotaler its really shocking, accidentally one had to go through such a trauma, and luckily you had someone who can drive you to your home. On such accidental situation one of my very close relative really got very annoyed when he smelt that someone deliberately did the mischievous thing to him,and therefore he himself did the same thing to the guy but with a difference taste/nature. Happy mylotting.

Oh, my. That certainly was mischievous. My friend did have one bite of my dessert, but it was not enough to make him silly.
