hello syoti, I am a SM Advantage Card holder for more than 5 years i think i can say it is good to have one if you are really patronizing SM, Wastson and Petron becoz in every 200 receipt you purchased it is equivalent to 1 points and also convertible it to cash (if you reach 200 you can use it to pay for the item you purchase). There was a time when i reached 1,000 points it means i also got 1,000.00 i used it to buy some stuff :D, regarding the freebies you will have discounts or something is for free from the affiliated stores. :) Have a nice day!

I had an SM advantage card years ago... but sad to say that i lost it... and i wasn't even able to use the points i earned... so i refrained from getting a new one... but just last year... BDO sent me this rewards card that works the same with an SM advantage card... but the best thing about it is that it doesn't have an expiration date so i don't need to ever renew my membership...

Hi Syoti. My husband has such a card because he is the one who frequently buy stuffs because of his job while I'm just using it to do groceries. We are using it for almost three years now. Just recently, he bought a new shoes for his Dad and he was surprised when he was informed of the balance points in his SM advantage card. The agent told him that the actual points can be converted into actual cash. So, when he got home, the first thing he said to me was, we will be a loyal SM shoppers from now on.

I think there's a lot of privileges and yes I do have one. They have a booklet that comes with the card and a list of discounts that you will get from certain merchants plus the points you earned can be converted and you can use it to pay for your groceries.

Sounds like it was your first time to avail this SM Advantage Card. I am always using that ever since and that is the reason why this year I am not buying gifts at Tiangge because I want to use the opportunity of using the advantage card when I am going to shop at Toy Kingdom. However I have not yet tried to use this in other opportunities.

You see, you can earn points whenever you purchase on Supermarket or Department Store or any establishment accepting such card for points. Then the points can be converted into cash. I remember one time, when I ran out of cash, and I needed P200. for my grocery, I made use of that card to pay my goods. Aside from discount coupons, I think I am more interested on the points.

I was hesitant to get an SMAC. I was thinking that the cost would outweigh my points because at that time I didnt have that much things to buy. I mean my Mom has one and whenever we buy groceries, Im usually with her so we would use her card. So it took me about a month to make my decision. I actually had a computation of how much pesos worth of merchandise should I buy each month before my card expires so that the cost of the card would just be equal. I thought that it would be too much for me because I dont have an income for myself and I really dont think Id need that much worth of merchandise. Still with doubt, I went out and bought it. I just kept it with me whenever I go and I think that is my advantage. Most of my friends still dont have the card because their parents or their siblings have it. So whenever we go out, watch a movie, or buy things, they would let me have the points in their purchases.^_^ I havent checked just how much it has now but Id like to keep the surprise when Im ready to buy things with it. My brother has an SM Advantage card and we do get some benefits off it. Throughout the year, we just earn points. We buy from the grocery, department store, or gas up at any Petron station, to earn points. By the end of the year, we use the points to purchase stuff we want. We were supposed to use the 600 points during Christmas but my brother got a gift certificate from the office so we used that first. I think there's also this "lifeline" or something like it. The cardholder can apply for it to get ambulance service, consultation, or something. I'm not really sure about it but it's sort of like a mini health insurance and the cardholder pays around 150 a month? Not really sure. Last, there sometimes are discounts for cardholder.

Yes, I have an SM advantage card for about four years now. Its true that its an advantage having this card with you when you're inside any SM mall. Many shops participated in giving away some discounts when you're a card holder of it. Before, I used to have 5% discount when I bought tickets in cinemas, but now, they didn't gave it anymore. Every now and then, there's a special promos that you could get, just refer to the malls' eye catching signs. Example of this was, when you buy 20 worth of food product in Jollibee store, you will get a free french fries or burger and so on and so forth. Now, even using PLDT telephone, could give you a rebates in your SM advantage card. Ive got more that one thousand pesos from it since I became a member and I also used it to buy items for me, my husband and my daughter, its a good thing that you get it, its really an advantage having it. Yes, we only have a few points there though. It does have a lot of advantage if you are an avid shopper in SM; and the freebies or advantages you get are many- but the shops mostly high class and stuff. But still, it's great to have this card.

Actually I do not have an SM Advantage card even though an army of SM cashiers have tried to offer it to me many times and more aggressively this past Christmas season. The main reason why I didn't acquire one was because I am not a frequent shopper at SM shops even in its department store or grocery mart. When I do buy at these places, I usually have small and less items - a small feat to even try to earn points from. Even though the card has it's benefits, I do not like being forced to be a patron of an establishment when I have the freedom of choice to frequent others.

My father has an SM Advantage card. If I'm not mistaken, he used it only one time in the department store. So it means it has only a few points. He mostly use it at Petron where he always refills our car.

I have no idea as to what an sm advantage card is. I wish that i could have a card where i could get more benefits from it and have the possibility of receiveing freebies and gifts. To my knowledge we have nothing like this here. If i was you i would certainly take full advantage of this card, it could turn out to be a really big help to you.

I do not have a SM advantage card. But my mom does have one. She uses it everytime we buy something at SM. You gain points every time you shop. When your points is already big, you can buy stuff with those points. These advantage card really comes in handy when you need it.
