Possibility of negative rating, does it stop you sometimes?

Confused. com comes to mind here.The whole idea of a site like this is to discuss all opinions no matter if they are good or bad.After all if you are on this site, you know that there are people that will agree as well as disagree with what ever you have to say.As for the star and the rating, well from what i can make out, it do not make no difference, mind you i have only been on here two years.I come on here to have fun and to relax, not have a competition with people.As for giving people the plus or minus well that is really up to the person that is marking, not up to other people trying to sway other people to do either.I never bother with giving people a minus, as i think that is pointless.

hi suggar I just have to believe most people are good and decent so I just go ahead mylotting and steer away from the contorversial stupid wars mylotters get into and stay a hate thing going. I don't touch political and religious discussions as too many people think its okay to badger y you if you do not agree with them. I do not negative anyone if the discussion is that bad I just report it to admins and let thenm chick it out.I do not fake anything if its good as most are it r ates plus okay?

We should not stop what we are doing and what e are feeling because we fear it will give us a negative rating. We should do and speak and feel what is right in our hearts. We can't worry how someone else will judge us for it. We need to be happy with ourselves.

Hi Suggar, Happy New Year!!! I am here in mylot to enjoy and not to think of money that I earn here, however, I do agree with you. Most of the times, I am a straightforward and emotional person, so if I think something is right/wrong, I clearly mention it in the discussion. As a result of that, this "yellow" star has turned "white" so many times, since the day I have joined mylot (not even 1 year). There is something called "being diplomatic", people around me (friends, family members etc) have suggested me to try to be diplomatic, this is something that I am working on, for last few months. That is why, now I try to avoid those topics where I can get a "-". In other words, supporting someone in straightforward manner is good but I try not to reply to those discussions where I do not agree with topic of the discussion. At first, if you think of it, you will say, it's BS. However, this life is very tedious & this "Diplomacy" thing is good and it will help you to achieve something that you deserve in your life (It's my personal experience). So here is another plus for me at mylot, I am learning to be diplomatic. (I don't know how long it's gonna work )

Well if you care about that lil'star that much then you should post things after thinking a lot about it but I don't really care about them so I just say whatever I feel or I think is right and I think you should to the same or you won't be yourself anymore (Sorry for all the I-s).

hi friend it is not always bad when you are rated negative sometimes it will make you think that why did that person rated me negative??? did i do something wrong?? actually it is better if we will be very considerate of other people, just like what you did, but for as long as you know that your right, defend it.. dont run :) cause remember that the truth will be revealed, and your conscience is not bothered :) hope we could be friends :) nice meeting you :)

Suggar, I do not feel that it is dangerous at all, but it is a possibility. I think it happens less now than it used to. Like in a democracy, all can have an opinion and all can vote, and that makes us equal.It is a type of freedom. It used to be a problem with negative rating, but Admin has actually put in to place a limit on how many times we can rate a person in a day, I believe.I probably should look it up. The longer you are here and the more you participate, the less on rating either direction will affect your standing on the lot.

It's a shame I started caring about my little blue star. One more credit for my red one: It kept me free!! Don't care much about earnings for now but, 1. Being high feels good 2. Can't stand my account being banned, (no remote possibility) Hmm... about the general scenario... fake positivism will not do! Better if people be true to themselves and care somewhat less about star. After all they say they are here to discuss and have fun...

People should never rate other peoples comments or discussions negative just because they do not agree with what they are saying. That is not how mylot is supposed to work. But there are rude people out there who do that! That doesnt stop me from leaving my honest opinion even if it might get a negative from someone who doesnt agree with me! Our star rating effects our earnings so I hope mine never drops below what it is right now. By the way I left you a positive rating on your discussions hope that helps.

Hi there, i am considering that answer too. If we are trying to oppose them, i am sure there are bitter things that awaits us. They are unseen so it is hard to make war with them as we are the only ones that are visible, it is so hard to point our sword in an invible target or enemy. I am sad that sometimes there are cases like this here. But we should not leave mylot, we must depend this village. I know in the end we will be raising and waving our flags of victory. And., we can fight showing our care to the invisible trolls, Why NOT ASK THEM KINDLY TO STOP THIS, I AM SURE THEY HAVE TENDER HEARTS.

I honestly do not care to be honest with you. To have a positive rating is nice and really nine times out of ten, if I get a negative rating, it is because of something that I did wrong. That is my mistake and my burden to bear. Still those jerks that mark people down because they do not agree and cannot really stand to see their delicate little feelings hurt, well they'll get theirs in the end. However, I'm not going to compromise my view for people like them.

You should never let anytrhing stop you from expressing your opinion, even if someone may dislike your reply or give you a negative ratng. There are ways to express yourself without starting a "war" with somwone and not only that, people that will rate you negative just for posting your opinion shouldn't even start discussions in the first place.If you don't like the topic or disagree with the person who started it, you can simply skip over it or reply in a respectable way why you disagree with what they posted, since "most" people here will not rate you negative for disagreeing with their opinion.there is very little chance that your "reputation" or "stars" will change due to the "few" that may rate you negative.

You actually made me think of something about this rating thing.For example you post a discussion and then I gave it a negative rate now my question is,will you be able to see the name of the one who gave you a negative rate?? Well if someone will rate me negatively,I will feel quite bad but then I will not confront or even think of having revenge on that person.We join mylot to socialize and widen our views and not to pick a fight with other members.It is normal that others will think bad of you if they don't like your post.And it is also normal if someone will rate you negatively. We can't always be positive in everything that we are posting but we also need to be considerate of what others will feel about our post.People have differences that's why we sometimes argue about things.I guess the right thing to do to avoid conflicts is to be pick the words that we are using whenever we are posting something here in mylot.

I still think that we are all here for the same reasons. And people are inately good, and some believe in karma. If you are just here to rate people negatively, then what goes around, just comes around. Of course if you are a bit rude in your responses, then you would deserve a negative rating.

yes, i try to be aware of that the only topic that i can go over and over without carring about the rating is the animal topic, i defend veganism and animal rights, i think it needs to be spoken as they can't talk for their selves
