hi people,
i need help! I used to install OS on my desktop however,when i try to access the boot menu in BIOS setup. there's an expalanation said on every boot device. "a device enclosed in parathesis has been disabled in the corresponding type menu". i set all the possible resolution and its no good. Please help. thank you.

Had this problem a long while back with a repair job that I did. You need to go into your BIOS, through the advanced menu, go to the Drive Configuration Menu, and DISABLE the Automatic mode. This will allow you to manually change the bootable device configuration for legacy OSs. What you need to make a note of is that legacy operating systems (OS) may only four devices, so your IDE or SATA(you didn't specify whether you are using an IDE or SATA hard drive, but either way...)controller will need to be in that list of 4 bootable devices. Ideally, it should be the Disc drive that you are using to install the OS, and then the drive that you intend to install the OS on. The other devices can follow after that.
