The Barclays english premiership league is the most hype football league on planet earth.Due to the nature of the english press who praise their league and players to high heavens. When was the last time an English based player won the world footballer of the year"s award?
The English players are so hyped that we always believe there are the best footballers around. From Ronney to Lampard,Gerrard etc.We are made to believe that these are the best players around, but when it comes to international competition they flop heavily or how can you explain why the best English player Wayne Rooney has not been able to find the back of the net in two consecutive world cup tournament?

The English Premier League is indeed one of the most interesting league in the world. But the problem is that the media immediately relate that the national team is good as a result. They have cleanly forget that it is the foreign players that is making the league so exciting. So for me, England national team is a hype but the league ain't.

I do not think leagues have anything really to do with the winning of a world cup. Especially in today's world where players from any country play in any other country. I think it is more about history, rivalry and closeness of contests. I think the EPL is highly rated because of the high energy matches that it produces. It also has a long history of rivalry between clubs which is what makes it a bit attraction.
Cheers!
