Today was the day that I decided to start taking down the holiday decorations around our home. I must say, it has been a little depressing as I have been doing so. Knowing that I won't decorate again until the end of 2011. But, it has helped to inspire me in some aspects of going through a ton of things in my home and trying to reorganize for the new year and clean up my home.
Even though it is depressing to put away the decorations, I have a sense of accomplishment for the hard work I have been doing cleaning up my home.

I know how you feel. I've been procrastinating taking down the decorations in our home. They're so colorful and cheery. It's cheesy, but bright surroundings just help brighten everything in my opinion, especially after receiving bad news. One thing about the holidays I'm glad is going back to the same ol' same is the amount of food. We have so many home made brownies and cookies that friends and family gave us as gifts!

I've always dressed my home in warm tones that just feel so magical around the holidays, lots of deep greens and reds. It is amazing how it just warms the heart and mind. It also adds to my creativity. I try and keep the colors around during the actual winter months through other decor' in my home, which tends to help, but alas still isn't the same as those decorations we all love to hang up.

Look at it this way, with the boring studies done, you will soon have a good education, a degree I am assuming in the studies that you have chosen and a future of yet to come to use that degree, hopefully in the field of your dreams. Press on and learn what you can. I too dreaded all the studies and in the end, I am now working with them in a way that I had hoped for so very long. I am a writer and have been published. For so long, I could not imagine what that would feel like. :)

This is always a sad time of year for me. Going back to school and work and leaving everything to put it back in the attic just sucks so bad. Back to boredom and work and monotony. Just makes you hope for the next holiday to come around.
