The Older i get the more I notice that Christmas is getting further away from its original point. The holidays are more about gifts and how much money can be spent rather them the birth of Jesus. Do you agree?

Yes I agree with on that one, that's why last Christmas we celebrated it differently. We celebrated it like it should be, a birthday. We bought a birthday cake and had Happy Birthday Jesus written on it and not Merry Christmas. We sang happy Birthday Jesus and we blew the candle. We also had ice cream, hotdogs and spaghetti.

hi christiancowboyholm yes I have noticed this too and my adult son said we need to call one day Santa Claus day and one Christmas and have Christmas for those of us who believe In Christ and also in God. to me its Christ's birthday and not about expensive gifts. you are so right.

I do notice that trend. as my friend once joked and I quote "...this holiday is just another and the biggest marketing scheme in commercialism...", and i could only agree if not for my faith. Still, in our country, the spirit of giving and spending time with the whole extended family exist so I still like it. I do miss receiving gifts, like when I was still a child, but I enjoy the company of my relatives and friends and the abundant food.
