england or india will lift this year world cup.?

I am a little surprised that you have left Sri-Lanka out of the Equation. England bowlers will be trashed in subcontinent conditions. the length they are bowling in australia will be ideal to wacked on the docile pitches of the subcontinent. Indians are the favourites in everyone's books, but a host has never won the world cup. Indians or SriLankans have to overcome this huge statistics to lift the world cup. For south africa to be serious contenders, they need more spin options & allrounders.

I do not think you analysis is spot on. For starters the ODI competition is much more closer than the Test competition currently. Australia are still the team to beat and are the no. 1 team in the world. South Africa and Sri Lanka are right there with the best as well. England have not achieved much in the ODI arena over the last couple of years, so they still have a lot to prove. So I think it is not just these two as you have predicted that are in the running. it would be too early to predict who will win world cup because it would mostly depend on the current form at that time and i think 50 days is still a long time.as you have rightly said the wickets are going to be batting paradise and the team having depth in batting line up will have upper hand,but one cant really predict what will happen.australia have shown in the past that they performs when it matters most and now no one will have upper hand in terms of conditions because each team now knows how to play in the subcontinent as they are part of the ipl from last 3 years in india and must have gathered quite a strategies about playing on these slow wickets.india definitely is one of the strong contender.:)

i am not sure who will win the word cup but i surely know that south africa wont win the world cup. besides we are gonna play in the subcontinent where it gonna be the batsmen paradise thingy. and ofcourse slow.so the team which can bat deep and some heavy hitters wil win the world cup

Hi siliguri, You have come to the conclusion too early I believe. There is still more than one and half months to go for the tournament to start and there are lot of international matches to be played in between. For the sake of discussion, I feel Srilanka and Pakistan are equally strong contenders for the trophy and never under estimate Australia they can bounce back any moment. But definitely India this time will be strong contenders for the trophy. About England I am still not convinced.
