Which Ereader would you recommend?

I've had to repost this because I accidentally posted ebook instead of ereader when I originally posted this.
I am seriously considering investing in an Ereader. I read for enjoyment only, no research or studying.
I can get my hands on a Literati at work with my discount, but some have come back because once they're turned off they won't come back on. Then I thought about the Kindle since it's all you hear about on tv. So I started researching and so far the Sony Ereader sounds like a good choice.
I read a lot of fiction, romance, inspirational and some horror. I don't care about best-sellers. I buy a lot of books off of Amazon, some are only one-cent; with shipping they only come to about $3.85 a book which isn't bad. I can't drive to the used book-store for that since I live in the country.
I don't want to sink hundreds of dollars into it. Some cost up to $400.00. I'm not going there. I can go $150 comfortably.
What would you recommend?

I received a Barnes and Noble Nook for Christmas. i am still learning how to use it, but I really like it so far. B&N has 100,000+ free ebooks, too, so that makes it more economical.

A Nook from Barnes & Noble. I know this discussion is almost a year old but these are both reasonably priced and easy to use. B&N has a ton of free ebooks, I've downloaded about 20 of them so far. Ones that are not free are still reasonable, from 99 cents up to maybe 5 or 6 bucks. If you bought one of those as an actual printed book, a lot of them run 12-16.99 or more with no option of a cheaper paperback copy.
Mine is a Nook Color, there is a cheaper priced Nook but the color is a better longterm option.

I posted this 11 months ago. Last January I found out I can download books to my phone which I have been doing on a regular basis up until the last month or so. I've downloaded 66 books and have read all but maybe five of them. I rarely pay over 2.99. Usually the 99cent ones are perfect for me. Like I mentioned above, I was afraid it would bother me not having a book to put on the bookshelf afterwards. It doesn't bother me in the least. Nine times out of ten I would donate my books to the library or pass them on to someone else and I never got a good one for under seven, even at a used book store. I love this, I always have my phone with me. I wouldn't always have the e-book with me and that's when I would probably want it. Like when I get stuck in line at the grocery store, or at a train crossing. I can adjust the font size and whether or not it's on black background or white. I'm at this place if you're going to mug me 'Take my car, take my purse, take my debit card and all the other cards, just don't take my phone. By the way, here's the pin number for my debit card' lol
Technology has come a long way hasn't it.
Thanks for responding.

I have just bought the new BN Nook, they are sending it home to me right now. I also thought about the Kindle but need more than 4 gb of memory. The Nook also has a touch screen and i know that the Kindle has a model with touch, but the Nook just seems more... finished, it got all the fine little details. And it only cost 139 bucks :D

Thanks for responding. Turned out I didn't need any of them. I can download to my I phone and read to my hearts content. I think I like this better too. I can adjust the font size, text color and everything. I just pick what I want from Amazon. Free or 99cents to what ever. I usually keep it under four dollars. I thought not having a book to put on the shelf would bother me. It doesn't. Yep, I think this will work just find and dandy.
