I have worked ever since I was 14 years old. My first job at 14 was cleaning hotel rooms, my mom got me the job and though it was kind of gross I did it and gave her the money for rent. Since then I have worked non stop all my life. 4 Years ago the company I worked for started paying people off and I was the last to go. I was getting paid $18 per hour and I had my nice house and nice car and life was kind of good.
These past three years my family had to change our lifestyle, we had to come WAY down.. down from $18 per hour and $1000 a month in child support to only $1000 child support. This may sound like a lot to many people, but our rent alone is $950 and that is because we live in the ghetto, anywhere else we would be paying over $1,300.
I AM thankful for the child support because this means that I don't have to ask for financial assistance from the government, BUT life is hard. My daughter who is 21 chips in $250 for rent and this is all we have left over for bills.
These past 3 years of working online have gone up and down and though I make a little its nowhere near how much we need.I have 3 teenagers who have needs and who need something every day and somedays it really gets me down.
This is how the economy has affected me. How has it affected you??

Life is really hard, earning money is not easy, my husband who used to make good in his small business is thinking of venturing to a new one since his present business is not doing well. I'm sending a daughter to college but thank God,we're still manage to buy things we need and want. Hope this year, economy bounce back and businesses do good!

It hit me the worse ever then my entire life. I became unemployed the first week in January 2010. I have had a very difficult time finding steady work as most employers find me way over qualified.
I am still persisting and have resorted to contracting work. I will be very optimistic this year with the hopes that I can once again be financially stable.
Good luck to all of us.
