Do you buy from Etsy?

During these last 6 months of blogging we have discovered and are now huge fans of Etsy. We have been lucky enough to get to review a few items that were hand made and let me tell you, handmade is underrated. I think what happens is that a lot of people will see the prices for a handmade item and compare it to an item that can be found at Walmart and immediately think handmade is overpriced. What you don't realize is the value of the handmade item, like this scarf Nessa is wearing. This is a handmade cowl made from 100% lambs wool by a wonderful lady names Jill Lauren who knits these herself. We got ours and were so amazed at the quality and how soft this item was, and have now used it many times. So do we think its worth the $42 price tag? Completely, this piece is worth that and much more and now when we go to retail stores and see similar items we cant help but notice how badly made they are and how they do not compare to our handmade version. So we love Etsy and now always take time to look at handmade items knowing they are worth the extra cost.

I've been thinking about selling things on etsy. As a consumer, I'm looking at the stuff and thinking it's overpriced, but then I also look at the time it took for them to make it, the cost it was to get the items and store them in a good environment, and also the cost of shipping. After taking that into consideration, along with the time it took to make the item, I now realize that it's a much treasured commodity. I want to sell scrapbooking pages, and am looking at what i already have and what etsy has, and am about to decide whether to try or not.

I haven't really had any money since the time I discovered the site, but I bet I would buy something from there. Not everything is that expensive either. I do think that that site is really cool though and I often like to window shop. lol.
