Tough Choices

I love ice cream and I eat it the whole year round. I eat just as much in the winter as I do in the summer. But, ice cream has gotten so expensive they make it hard to eat it everyday. It seem as if the maker of it want me to take it off the shopping list because given the choice of paying $7.00 for it or buying bread I will have to choose bread. They are making American change their eating habits, and I was listening to a report on American wasting food, with the prices of food American have some tough choices to make. Made any tough choices lately?

Hi, chalde24. Welcome to myLot! I had to limit how much of children's vitamin milk that I buy for my kids. It is very expensive, so that is why I have started stocking up on strawberry and chocolate powder shakes. It is more cheaper and it lasts more longer. As long as I have some milk in my refrigerator, I am able to mix my kids a shake for them to drink.

Yes, I know, the prices of ice cream are going up all the time. So, I stay with the simple one, chocolate ice cream. That's it. Saves mee some money. Chocolate is my favorite too. I am pretty much addicte to chocolate. I like anything chocolate, bars, ice cream, pudding, milk, etc. The girls at the ice cream shop know very well what I will be ordering.

The prices are going up in the UK too so I can empathise. I've never made ice-cream at home, maybe I should give it a go! I eat ice-cream all year round too, which I explain by saying that the calcium is good for bones! :o) I find that buying plain vanilla ice-cream in a larger tub is the cheapest way. I then get some sauce to drizzle over it and some wafers that I break into tiny pieces to make it a bit more lively and special, without spending a fortune on brand-name stuff.

I agree with you on this post. Just last week, i went to the local grocery store to buy ice cream. I was shocked when I discovered that the price for it was $8.99!! Just as i was about to buy it, my phone rang and my sisters asked for some milk. The milk itself was around $7! I ended up buying the milk, but i regret it....
