phenomenon seen in the sky Jogja.

woww...i did not see this. it is hot this morning. but something was happen this afternoon-around 2.30 pm. i heard 'azan' from the mosque. i don't know what happen. just wonder what was going on, why the azan is heard.

Turns out the phenomenon is called a sun dog. Pretty interesting.

obviously there is a very thing cloud cover causing that phenomenon, I have seen rainbows in clouds toward the sun, but never all around like that

This happens often here, it is moisture and can mean rain, it's like a rainbow around the sun, very pretty.

Yeah guys, i have seen this news from kaskus. Many people said that this is a sign, whatever bad or good i guess that's just a common phenomenon in the sky. I don't think it would be a serious sign. Happy mylotting.

Yes, that's called halo. Ring around the sun and either it could happen for the moon. I have never seen that phenomenon before however, I have ever seen halo in moon. Lunar halos easily can be seen when full moon and the whether is bright. It's good phenomenon, thanks for sharing with us.

That's quiet common thing, I'm seen this in many times, it's depend on the angle of sun position (or your position against the sun) and the temperatures in the atmosphere, when there is enough quantity of ice crystals, it will refracting the light that coming from the sun. This "phenomenon" very similar with the moon halos. And its more often happen instead.

It is now 2pm in my country and I did not notice any unusual event around the sun. May be it is the time zone difference that it happened in your country when I was fast asleep.
