Whats With Thousands of Birds Falling From the Sky In Arkansas? Any Explanation?

This is very strange without a doubt. Some say all the fireworks on New Years Eve from the booming noises caused all the birds to die. I guess such loud booming noises for such small animals could cause the birds to die and drop to their death. The timing was certainly right for such an explanation. A better explanation would be toxic gases in the sky that could of caused thousands of birds to drop to their death. You know Arkansas did recently legalize pot after it was voted into law during the past election. Maybe the massive New Years Eve celebration with certainly alot of pot smoking fumes went into the sky and caused the birds to drop to their death. Maybe the birds just can't handle pot, lol. Just a joke of course but still strange indeed.

Jury is still out while I write this. Lightening can cause this, thoses types of bird fly in hugh flocks and close together. Or poison could have got them, large groups of birds can really cause damage and many people just want to get rid of them. Time will tell.

It's more likely that the weather is to blame (at least in part). I don't know what the recent weather has been in Arkansas but it has certainly been unseasonably cold in parts of the States. This may have meant that many birds were weakened and, perhaps even, had migrated to Arkansas as a warmer place.
Many birds, especially the smaller ones, only barely survive a cold night and need to feed directly it gets light. If they are frightened into flight it can very well be the last straw for them and many would die not from fright but simply from exhaustion.

I heard about that on the news, thats so wierd. I don't see how a loud noise could cause birds to die like that, unless it scared them so bad they had heart attacks..haha. Who knows what happened..
