Can two computer share a internet

My roomate has his own computer and bought a trendnet adapter that plugs into his pc. I have a laptop that can pick wirless g networks. I have tried adhock and his computer picked ip mine ,but not the internet.

Check the configuration. I guess you installed it incorrectly.

Yeah thank's but I think I need to get some more things for it to work. Maybe a router.
