As long as i can remember ive been skinny Ive always been underweight and as ive gotten older it completely infuriates me!
My shoulders, hips...basically everything is bony! Its horrible and i hate it!
Im not anorexic, Im not bulimic i have absolutely no eating disorders, In fact i eat like a horse!
On a night time especially im terrible I'll eat biscuits, chocolate, crisps, cheese and even the odd fry up at 11pm at night.
I just cant understand it??? The endless trips to the doctors to find out why? oh why? my body will not store fat?!
Every female in my family is like this??
Doctors keep saying we have a ''fast metabolism''?
I have to listen to my friends moan everyday that they have a fat behind or blah blah blah and id love a fat behind! Id love hips and bigger boobs!
All these girls who starve themselves to look like a size 0 are raving MAD!
I recently embarked on the milkshake diet where i had to drink a milkshake with loads of calories in 4 times a day.
With these milkshakes i was in taking an extra 1000 calories per day on top of what ever i was eating.
After one month i went back to the doctors.
Id lost 4 pounds!!!......so infuriating!!!!
I should have gained 4 stone never mind lost 4 stinking pounds!!!!
Id love to know if there's some sort of specialist out there who can tell me why i have to look like a stupid size 0 model rather than a curvy sexy lady!.

I have a different approach!
Try building some muscle, it weighs more than fat & its sexier! lift some weights & work out your abs and butt. I promise you'll like having a fit butt rather than a large, but lumpy one.
you don't have to become a muscle-woman. you know what I mean. ;] You can just start by working a little on areas you wish were larger.

Thats funny. I tried that before! I worked out my arms like crazy before my wedding because my arms were sticks and I thought they would look a little nicer with a tiny bit of shape to them. Well I saw improvement but then when I got the pictures back from my wedding my arms were still sticks so I gave up. If after working that hard I didnt get shapely arms I never will. But give it a try lifting weights might give you some arm muscle you never know.

if you give up, then yeah you won't get the results you want. You don't need to become a gym rat, hell, i use large cans of beans & work out with my tv. hehe trust me. you gotta stick to it & it willll show you results! Muscle atrophies [gets smaller/weaker]pretty fast from disuse. I'm just saying, you can't expect immediate results, but if you keep at it, you will see definite results. Working out really isn't a one or two time thing. I dunno why people don't get that. =/ [i'm no personal trainer, or even a health nut haha ;]

While reading this i was thinking that this was written by me 6 years ago. I had the same problem as you and even after getting married, getting pregnant didn't get me fat at all. In fact i was even underweight when i was 9 months pregnant.
Two years after giving birth i realized how i can gain weight successfully. I discovered it by accident thinking that i was pregnant, but it was a blighted pregnancy actually. I never skipped breakfast, eating twice the amount that i used to exactly at the same time everyday. So that would be about 8am and at about 10am i have to eat snacks again. Then at exactly 12 i have to eat lunch. At 3 or 4pm i have to grab some heavy snacks and eat dinner at 7pm.
It is very important to eat exactly at the same time everyday to build your appetite and not lose it. Never allow yourself to be hungry as this will destroy your diet in gaining weight. This advise actually also came from my cousin who is a doctor. So i hope this could help you too.

My ex had the same problem. While i was helping him gain weight researching, i found that eating alot is not the answer. It might actually increase your metabolism.
Human body is quite a thing cous it effectively adjusts itself according to the extreme changes.
so have a standard breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Tummy weight may be. But you need to look up for a diet routine that would help you gain a lean body mass. You don't want to be fat but healthy.
Its not just the fat in food that makes you gain weight.
Even food rich in carbohydrate can make you gain weight, if its not consumed through workout or such activities.
If those carb calories are not burned, they turn into body fat.
Eat healthy yet heavy diet.
Eat a heavy break fast medium lunch and a light dinner, with snacks between all these eating hours.
Heavy doesn't mean you have to eat everything you see.
You only have to eat 500 calories more than a person at your age and height requires.
you can calculate how much calories you need to maintain weight on internet and then you can add 500 calories to it.
Suppose a person weighing 115 lbs, age 20, height 5'5 needs 1683 something calories to maintain that weight. if he eats 500 extra calories, he'll gain weight.

Yes but as i explained that isn't exactly true, A specialist at my doctors recommended some sort of milkshake that i was to drink in between meals everyday this was an extra 1000 calories per drink which totalled as an extra 4000 calories per day and it didn't help? I have been for tests and there is nothing wrong me im as healthy as the nest person but i look like a skeleton?? cant understand it personally i think they need to take a vial of blood from me see what's in my DNA lol thanks anyway

I thought you will be happy to skinny like a super model though. Well, some people have different opinion about fat and perfect size. If you want to gain weight, and you can't. You just have to see a doctor, or take some sort of pill to help you out get those meat on your bone again. Good luck!

Why are women so confusing?
Many women would kill to be skinny. I don't know any special doctors, sorry. I do know that there are a lot of people attracted to skinny women. If you are just unhappy being skinny then you could start eating more fast food, it isn't healthy but you might gain some weight.
I find that people who aren't happy with the way they look don't usually like themselves after they change their looks. Be careful and remember that there are probably a lot of great things about your own looks. Nothing like being who you are.

Good luck with that. You probably have high metabolism and the fat would disapear. I like skinny women and feel that there are more than enough large women out there. You need both types to for it to average out.

You sound like me, I honestly know what your going through.
All the bigger girls envy us without realising its actually a bad thing to look like a walking talking skeleton.
I cant help you out in the gaining weight department as im 24 and for the last 8 years i have made it my goal to try every possible thing to gain weight and it just hasn't happened??
When i fell pregnant i gained 2 stone! it was fantastic! i loved ever second of it! but within two weeks after giving birth the two stone had dropped off and i didnt even exercise??
This may be something we just have to live with and moan about now and again.

Count yourself lucky--no, really! I know it's hard to get clothing that fits well but you have more options that those of us who are fat and are constantly trying to lose weight. We, like you, do everything right and gain instead of lose or stay the same!
Just enjoy being thin and able to buy anything you want. At your age you still have a few years before your metabolism slows down and you start packing on the pounds. You might be blessed with it all your life but it usually starts sputtering in your 30's and in your 40's you'll be struggling to lose weight.
Eat healthy, stop the fried food and calorie intensive milkshakes. You'll thank yourself later in life when you slow down and start to gain weight that you don't want.

I honestly dont think it will slow down :(
My grandmother is 76 and is a size 4
My mother is 54 and a size 4
My sister is 18 and a size zero
then there is me 24 and a size zero as well.
dont get me wrong we all eat quite healthy but none of us count calories or even think about not having an extra slice.
I think the only reason i have ever looked at a calorie chart is when i have been looking to see if i am having the highest calories to gain weight.
Honestly size 0 is disgusting, wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I would never want to be obese or anything like that but gaining weight to where i was a size 6/8/10 id be thankful!

I have the same kind of body and I'm really happy with it. A body with no fat is absolutely beautiful but not everyone has the same tastes, so I can understand if you prefer a different kind of body. Anyway, your metabolism will get slower as you get older, and you will start gaining weight. Then you will probably miss having a quick metabolism

I really dont think id miss this as i dont find a flat chest, boney hips and shoulders sexy? in my mind a man would find a curvier woman sexier?
Mind you ive been with my partner 9 years and he always says im fine the way i am but you know when you just can take that as truth??

We 're the same. I'm also very skinny. No matter what I eat, I still got this problem. I also eat more than 4 times a day. I can grab my wrist with my middle finger and thumb enclosed. I'm so embarrassed and worried of myself especially when I was studying. Well, skinny body gave me some benefits. I managed to open my locked room when I left the keys inside. I just inserted my hand in the window and reach for the keys. But whenever I play basketball with my friends, I cannot shoot even a single shot because my arms are weak.

i used to be a very keen swimmer before i had my son, I swam for my city and was pretty good aswell, my legs were strong and my best stroke was backstroke due to my legs powering me through but like you my arms were weak :( i could only do one perfect length of butterfly before my arms gave up on me.
My coach instructed me to use weights (not the huge ones the men use) if your from Britain Argos do a case of 3 women's weights for around 15 pounds and they are fab!
They strengthen your arms for better use without building too much muscle (as you know yourself being skinny with huge muscles would be ridiculous!)
Try this and it will honestly work.

Yes you sound like my doctor haha.
Ive had my bones checked and everything is fine i have no density like you would with an eating disorder and im not weak or tired all the time, apparently i would have also stopped my periods aswell?
I know everyone is right and i should stop moaning but does anyone out there actually like size 0 skinny people??
I actually feel guilty when other peoples daughters say they are going on a diet or they want to be thin like me!?
Mind you my poor sister got it worse than me, even though i am very thin i was blessed with only being 5'5 in the height department which made me look a little bigger than i actually am, but my sis is 18 and 6'4 so as you can imagine shes a walking lampost poor sis
