I'm in the process of trying to write some poems for children, though I'd try to do some funny animal poems, silly ones to make children laugh. There are some obvious candidates elephants with long noses, bats with bad eyesight, cheeky monkeys ! Unfortunately I'm starting to run out of ideas, I'll have to put the thinking cap on, I'll post something once it's ready.
P.S. Has anybody see any like these before, I want to ensure I'm not copying somebody elses work without realising it

How do you get rid of an elephant?
First you have to dig a really big hole. Then you carry ashes and put some in the hole and some around the hole. Then you chase the elephant over to the hole. When the elephant is standing close to the hole you Kick the elephant in the ash-hole! Presto! he's gone!

What's grey has four legs and a trunk - a mouse going on holiday
What's brown has four legs and a trunk - a mouse coming back from hoiday
Thanks for the comment, I'm guessing either not many people have read this thread, or there's not much interest in this kind of poetry. I'll stick the first poem up when it's complete...
Cheers
