Traveling with a cat

I have a problem. I am moving to another province and in order to get to that other province, I have to travel 15 hours across Newfoundland on a bus and take a six-hour ferry to Nova Scotia. I would like to cat my cat with me but he is not allowed on the bus and I can't rent a car and drive across because the weather is too bad and it is too dangerous this time of year. My cat is also not allowed to fly because he has health problems that prevent him from doing so. The only solution I have come up with so far is to leave him here with friends until the Spring when I can rent a car a drive when the weather is better but this is a last resort. I hate to leave him behind for so long as I will miss him and I am sure he will miss me too! Anyone have any solutions that I may not have thought of? Thanks!

One time I went on a long weekend trip to the Chanel Islands. I was able to take my dog called Secret. We drove down to the ferry port and then parked. We took him in a carry case on the ferry and he had to stay on the car deck. Now I have him and my dog, Magic. When I travel overseas my mom looks after them. Whilst I am away I really miss my dogs. It is a shame the bus won't let your cat travel. It is a shame there isn't a train service for that journey you are planning to do. Maybe you could pay for a van to take your cat in an animal carry case all the way. This would be rather stressful for him I would imagine. Due to his health problems you would probably want to avoid this. The only option is to let a friend or family member take care of your cat whilst you are away. Cats like to stay at home but dogs don't mind traveling with their owner. Good luck with you deciding what to do.

I think leaving your kitty till Spring is the best solution and safest for him. I can't think of any other solution unless you can delay your move until the weather is better. Can you get a friend to drive you or look for someone who is making a trip in the same direction?

I brought my cat when i traveled to Boracay Island, Philippines. Thanks to TicketNPost http://bookings-flights.ticketnpost.com/ for booking me. Had a wonderful experience there with my cat of course.
