Your favorite place to do wintersports?

I do not do winter-sporting much any more. I used to, when I was younger. My favorite place for winter-sporting is the Banff National Park on the Canadian Rockies. That's my choice all times, so scenic, so refreshing, and lots of ways one can enjoy the winter.

My favourite winter sport is ice skating. When I was younger my brother and I often went ice skating on a lake in our city. We have cold winters in my country, and during the winter months it is often possible to go ice skating on the lake. In the town where I grew up there is also an indoor ice skating rink, and I have been there a couple of times, but I prefer ice skating on the lake. My husband and I have talked about going ice skating one day, I haven't done it for many years, so it could be fun to try it again. When I was younger I also enjoyed skiiing and sledding. In one of the houses where my parents lived there was a big hill in the garden and my brother and I often played there when the place was covered by snow. I have never tried snowboarding, but it could be interesting to try it one day.

I tried ice skating when I was a teenager. I found it quite challenging to stay standing up all the time. I had a number of times when I fell over. When I was 19 years old I traveled in the winter time to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There I had a go on a lift up a snowy hillside. Some of the people up there were doing winter sports. I am not fond of cold weather these days. I think that best destinations would be Switzerland, Austria, Romania for lower cost and Canada for a long haul trip if the person wanted to do winter sports.

I have tried ice skating since there are indoor skating rinks in our country. But I want to try it outside. I want to try it out on a frozen lake... I had the chance when we went to Beijing but it was very very cold. We can't stand on our own two feet because we are really shaking. :D We also visited a ski resort in Beijing. I really really wanted to try it but due to time constraints, I was not able to. Anyways, I hope I have a chance to visit Beijing again to do winter sports because that is the closest place I can try that.
