Greek life style - missing Mylot friends

Just stopping by to say hello to my Mylot friends who I've been out of touch with Happy New Year from Greece and Special wishes to Aunty, Shirley, Leif,Cynthia,Purple,Maggie,Mys, the toe sucking Lamby, Robert Maxwell (ok he's dead but his picture is staring down at me as my politics avatar), lots lots more and Blue bunny if you're there.
As some of you know I've been making my name on Google over the last year for profitable gain (Please feel free to Google the real me - Katerina Nikolas) for my scintilating articles, so haven't had the chance to look in here much.
As I support Hugo (cutie now 12) and myself without any help the article writing has improved our lives this year - I put in a back up water tank which meant we had water for more than 2 hours a day this summer, which was the reality of this area of Greece without a backup supply - not easy to cope with when temps are over 100degrees f, had a brand new garden put in, filled the oil tank to the brim for heating over the winter, finally got the longed for goose down quilt to be cosy on winter nights, and afforded extras without worrying about the costs.
The best news of all is that the Greek avator fisherman Nikos has survived his gruelling ordeal with lung cancer and is now fat and hairy again, much improved on the bloated bald boiled potato head he became by October. He beat the odds which makes me happy. Basically I'm happy, life is good, and tomorrow I'll be wrapped up in the arms of my Greek man.
Oops this was meant to be a discusson

Got a new laptop and mislaid all my old email addresses Aunty - techniphobe here you remember.
Hugo was 12 last week and thinks he's 16, keeps falling asleep so I'm expecting none of his clothes to fit next week as I'm sure its a growth spurt.
Glad you got to see plenty of Ryan. Hugs

Love and hugs back Aunty. I didn't technically desert - I just spend so long writing articles that I'm done with the computer when I'm finished, and still have to fit in my 2 days off when I go away.
Hope you had good holidays and saw plenty of Ryan. xx

and hello and happy new year to you too
I've taken a beating these last 2 months, but whether or not the car knows it, it WILL be either fixed or replaced!
Glad to hear Nikos has survived his cancer round, and you will be warm this winter and... ummm... wet this summer?

not a physical beating but an emotional one and we don't do cliffs around here...
it could be repaired, but it IS the transmission, AND the air conditioning so that does weigh on the repairs
Still, I suspect fixing it would be cheaper than buying a new one...
I meant "wet" as in having more water than the last years

My car air con has been broken for several years now and it's too expensive to fix it. On the plus side it uses a lot of petrol when driving over mountain and petol is pretty expensive at the mo'. I just do without and hope there's enough speed to bring a bit of a breeze in.
Sorry to hear about emotional beating but think positive. Use your imagination - you have oil wells instead of cliffs!

Hi Elic - I hope the beating wasn't literally. If the car gives up the ghost send it over a handy cliff if it's insured. I couldn't be with my Greek this new years eve just gone so I spent it with his mum and the avator who is smitten with the Greeks mum. Maybe its helped him pull through but I'm proud of the old sod for surviving against the odds. Wet in the summer here? If we get the odd bit of rain it's a delight which blights holidaymakers on the beach.

I was just about to turn in when you popped up, what a treat. OK I'm a great writer - should have done it years ago, nothing like setting you own hours with no commute involved.
What's happening with you artistry? Hope all is well - with that I'm away to sleep but will look back in in 2 nights when I'm home again. Cold mountains await! with a warm Greek at the other end.

...Hi again, I have been okay, I have been writing as well not hardly on your scale, but the funds help out. My little job that I had at home has teetered out, but the irony is that I had wanted to quit and they would not let me, but now the job is getting phased out, go figure. I got tired of the rude, mostly men, but the little check was deposited by moi when received. "o) Otherwise I am trying to stay warm as I am not a winter bird, I hibernate like a bear in the wintertime. Look to hear from you. Take good care.

I've been wondering where you've been! Then again I've also come to know the ways of the internet as people come and go not to hold grudges as real life comes before places as this.
I'm glad you finally got that comforter as well! Even better found something you can make a tidy profit off of. I wish I could say the same on the aspect of income anyways. Stop by and say hello when you can!

OMG thea~ It is so wonderful to hear from you again! I had no idea
what happened to you and the "Greekman. I am so happy to hear that
he is well and recovering from cancer even though I didn't even
know he was ill! Even more reason to celebrate! And as for all
your other trouble, I am so glad that your writing was able to
take care of it for you. I just wish you would have reached out
to your friends here! Yes, we all have our "issues". but that
doesn't mean we wouldn't be here for you~I just am glad you
are back to update us with your good news. Just remember we are
always here for you no matter what! Hugs, Opal/Leslie

Hi Opal, Lovely to hear from you too, Ah dear my Greekman and the Greek fisherman who was ill are two different people, much as I'm fond of the latter his pic is up here and on my profile so it's pretty obvious why he's just a friend. I'll pop by from time to time but I've really just been lazy until schools back on Monday.

Hello, Katerina. Lovely to see you here again. I haven't been doing quite so well as you with the writing, but it's been pretty good, and we have fun over on Helium as well together.
Great news about Nikos - especially after I seem to remember all his 'friends' telling him the chemo would kill him. A dear friend of ours has beaten lymphoma this year, so we're very happy about that.
Life is good here in Spain. At least there's no snow! We've just got back from a lovely day out for Three Kings Day (Spain's equivalent of Christmas Day, when the children get gifts from Balthazar, one of the 3 Kings, rather than Santa). We had a carvery and Country & Western Show, which everyone enjoyed. A good start to 2011 - let's hope there's more to come. Happy New Year from Spain.

Hello Thea,
I don't know if you remember but I got worried when you stop being active in mylot. When CNN was airing troubles in Greece about some financial crisis issue, i thought about that one lotter. It's nice to you know that you are perfectly or almost fine there. I am glad that you have really showed you're story.
I just want to greet you Happy New year. by the way, we made a Group in facebook called mylot lovers group. of course, if you have an FB you can add this group.

Hi Letran,
well that was nice of you thinking of me but the financial crisis is no where near over in Greece. New austerity measures all the time, lost most of the post offices at the end of the year which is no good for the older ones. Whenever you see riots on the news it's only Athens, round here it's still on a go slow and the only thing that nearly caused a riot was the no smoking ban which they've more of less withdrawn again or all the tavernas would have gone out of business. Don't do facebook I'm afraid.

Happy New year to you as well Thea, it really has been quite a while since we've seen you. As for me, I don't think that I am spending quite as much time on here now as I was a little while ago. I'm doing article writing as well, only I've found that Helium is the avenue that I like. I'm far from getting rich so far, but I really am enjoying the writing and I think that if I continue writing the way that I've been doing then I will be able to make a difference for my family's lifestyle.

Hi dorannwin, I didn't know you were writing on Helium too. My link to there is in my profile - if you work at it you can build up a very tidy residual income each month from page views. You can say hello to me there: I'm the manager for credit and debt, such a fun subject!

Hello thea, :)
A happy new year to you too! I am sure there are a lot of things going on over there and you are enjoying life the way it is meant to be.
Don't forget to come back to your friends when you get the time to.
By the way I hope you remember me! The 'troll' who would irritate your cute little blue bunny.
