Australia are 122 for 3 in second innings of the 5th and final Ashes series ongoing at Sydney, Australia. England took a first innings lead of 364 runs after scoring mammoth 644 runs in reply to Australia's paltry 280 in the first innings. Australia now needs another 242 runs to avoid innings defeat with three of their front line batsmen, Watson, Hughes and Khawaja back to the pavilion. It is now left to stand in skipper Michael Clark and Hussey along with Haddin and tail enders to save the match for Australia. They have already lost the Ashes and saving the series at this stage does not look likely as for Australia to win this match from here looks impossible. They are already down 1-0 and even a draw in this match will ensure a series win for England.

The score is 135 for 4 as i write this.
I did watch a brief period of play in the morning. Swan was getting prodigious turn even though he was bowling quick ( 90 kmph). Bresnan was swinging the ball both ways. It is looking impossible for Australia to save this match.
with so much of time left in the match, even a century from Hussey cannot save the match & the series for the Aussies.

Aussies went on to lose the match by an innings. It was their third innings defeat in the series condemning them to a 1-3 loss of the Ashes. I think it was a just reflection of the way the two teams have played. Australia was completely outplayed by England.
Cheers!
