Well for the last five years I have been a blond. I told my husband today that I wanted to dye my hair back to a brunette. Ok well my kids just looked at me in shock. My youngest ones said that I didn't look like their mom. At church two men told me they liked the blond look better. My husband said it looks good on me. I think the blond look was nicer but this year I wanted to look different. I don't know how long this look will remain but for now I guess it will stay since I need to feel different. Have you ever dyed your hair wondering if you did the right thing?

i had my hair dyed because white hairs are showing i did not feel guilty about it because the white hairs are gone! but i know it will only be for a while and they will show again.

Those terrible little white hairs! I started to get them in my late 20's so I am used to them but as long as there is dye, there is hope!

My natural color of hair is dark brown and my hair is currently that color. When I was 33 years old I have my hair colored and a gingery shade of brown. It had some ginger low lights in it. I was told my hair looked fantastic like that. I think dying hair can make the ends dry and the hair in poor condition. When I was 16 years old I had my hair permed and colored a gingery shade. In my twenties I regularly did a henna treatment on my hair. This gave my hair a lovely shine, better condition and a subtle gingery brown color. How I had wished that my natural color of hair was a lighter brown then I would have got more of a gingery color. I think that people get used to seeing a lady with a certain color of hair and when it is changed they get a bit of a shock. Though he or she will soon get used to it. I think that brunette is a wonderful color and it will suit you because it is your natural color.

Mentioning the henna treatment seems reasonable. What is the difference with henna and dying? I can't remember what exactly it does. You are so right that people are just shocked by new color on a woman. Lately I have been waking up shocked to see myself in the mirror but since I have washed my hair a few times the color has been fading and I see the ginger highlights. I definately agree with you that ginger highlights do something to a persons hair. I have to check out the henna which seems it might be a solution.

I had my hair highlighted before with a bit of blond and brown combination. It made me look cool and it fits me also. Ever since , i have never dyed my hair with any other color except black to cover some grey hairs already lurking. The last time i had it cellophaned with black, the hairdresser suggested that i try to have it dyed with lighter brown the next around. I guess, i may , the next time for a change.

I think it's so nice to have a change in color. I have kept the blonde look for 5 years but it was nice to see the different color. I just love it that we're women that can experiment with colors. My husband is barely getting some gray hair and I joke around with him that he can use hair dye but I know it will be harder for him with his shorter hair.

The temporary dye is starting to fade but it looks ok to me still. I think it's turning into a softer color. Right now it looks like natural dark brown but with highlights of gold in it. I'm still debating on which way to go but I need to go to a store with more of a selection in colors.

Well I have to dye my hair because I have alot of gray hair now. My hair is suffering the consequences because it seems dry or is that is. I wanted to let it grow but then I have to cut alot of the dryness off so at this point I doubt my hair will get longer. I put the temporary dye in my hair which I felt wouldn't do as much damage until I decide what I really want. Going light is the most damaging thing I have seen done to my hair.

I have changed my natural black hair to brown. It stayed for more than 2 months but I have never tried again to do so, because my friends said the natural black color do suit me better. I advice you looking different does not mean that you should look more devastated. Looking different always mean to look better.

You know what is wierd that natural black hair looks so beautiful. When someone tries to dye their hair black it seems harsh. I was born with black hair but I don't want to dye it back to complete black hair because I'm older and it will make me look older.

I did this all last year and kept changing things and then in september of last year my hair lady finally got what i wanted and i was so pleased and loved it so much. Not i have my hair the way i like it and love it so much. My hair used to be all one color and so boring to me and i wanted something different in a big way. Im glad i changed my hair and now have three different colors in my hair. It looks great and it was a big change for me but right now i am enjoying it and i might get bored again and do something different but for now its me and i like it.

I want to try something like yours, different colors. I am thinking about it but my main problem is that it's something I can do at home. Going to a salon to try to do the highlights or different colors is too expensive. Right now just experimenting on my own is the most economic way. I hope to do what you have done is experiment this whole year if possible until my husband and I can be satisfied.

Good Day! Well, I have a long black hair. Its obvious, just look at my avatar but before I dyed my haitr just to be different, just to have a new look and I don't know if I did the right thing because some do gave compiments that I look better with a dyed hair which is color brown but my dad told me that it looks bad on me. Hahaha! but I still insists that I look beautiful with a brown hair. Days passed and I felt that I look ugly with that color because lots of girls nowadays dyed their hair also even though it doesn't look good on them that's why i feel like I'm one of them so I decided to bring back my natural hair color which is black.

I love your hair. I wish my hair was straight and shiny like yours. I was black, then blonde but with highlights from the different dyes, gray hair, and my own color. Now I put a chestnut color but the gray looks reddish. I have to find the right color but I will experiment with temporary colors for now, too scared to really do damage to my hair. Again I love your hair. Don't you hate it when you get mixed comments? No one ever really said they liked my blonde hair either.
