where is best to open blog and site?

Hello fellow mylotters.I would like to open a blog and a site, but don't know where.
What do you think, where (from free) blogs and sites to open so that would be easy.
I confess i am not good with such things, any site i tried to open was so hard that i didn't manage to finish it.
there must be some context and referral links, so it must be someplace that will be easy to do this.
Can someone tell me how to make google notice it?

Blogspot is good if you are looking for free hosting for a blog, I personally went with a paid hosting its type pad, and so far I really enjoy it a lot. To me its one of the best there is, but you do have to update blogs daily otherwise, you end up with very few or no visitors.

Yes i have came across a few really good blogs in blogspot. But maybe it's just me - they were very heavy in downloading and i didn't like the design. A lot of people seems to favor it and have really good blogs there. Maybe i can try if i don't find anything lighter. So you update everyday?

If you want you can do a trial site first in free hosting sites such as freewebs. They have website templates and their builder is user friendly even to first time users.
