What is extra?

Most of the people here seems interested (and so am I) to earn money, but seeing that this interest thread is "Make EXTRA money", how would you categorise as extra? Is it anything more than what you already earn OR what you would need to make it through the month of bills and expenses?

Some months we just have my income monthly to pay the bills, and when that happens its never good. On the other hand if my husband gets plenty of roofs in a month, we have a regular income of $1500+ per month. Which more then pays the bills. To me extra money that I make online, helps out when we have a slow month and no roofs come in, this way we don't have to worry about losing our house and maybe being out on the street. Of course the extra cash also comes in handy at Christmas.

'Extra' money for me is that which I can just leave and don't have to use it to pay the bills, buy food and clothes and all the other general expenses of every day life.
It is money that I can use for something special and if I can acquire it and let it add up, without touching it, then that special something will be even more special.
I am saving all of my online earnings to fund a trip to visit my sister who lives in US. I can't go to see here for a long time yet as there is another situation which prevents me going but one day, in the not too distant future, I will be able to set the date and plan it. The way things are going I will have enough to fund the whole round trip, there and back, and some extra spending money too
